Di's really a lovely and cute lady as her house is well decorated with beautiful flowers and other artistic stuff. If you choose to stay in Akaroa for one night, her tranquil garden will be my first recommendation. My parents like her a lot as she is sooo lovely and warm-hearted. Hope Di will stay happy and healthy all the time.

Di's place was breathtakingly beautiful, nestled in the foothills near Akaroa. Her home was like from a fairytale, very whimsical with the gardens and lovely furnishings. Di was very welcoming and kind and made us a wonderful breakfast in the morning. Memorable stay!

Di User ProfileDi is a superhost.

I am a mixed media artist and have lived in and near Akaroa for over 30 years. Having lived in the peaceful & beautiful Takamatua Valley for over 17 years when I was very fortunate to purchase a unique home for my daughter and I. It is only 3minutes from Akaroa and set in a rural environment with stunning views of the surrounding valley and hills. Birdsong fills the air.... bliss!
I have a large cottage garden as well as vegetable plots which I am often pottering about in. When I am not in the garden you will find me working on one of my mixed media paintings, re-purposing furniture or painting on silk. I am rarely idol!

I enjoy sharing my "space" and environment with others. For many years I often hosted overseas students, from both Taiwan & Japan. Sometimes having up to 3 extra "daughters" living with my daughter Faith and I for 3 weeks at a time whilst they attended Akaroa Area School.
As my daughter Faith is now getting older decided to "open my doors" further and extend the home to travellers, whom I know will enjoy our environment.

I offer art workshops in both mixed media art and in silk painting, for those that are interested.
When I am not listening to the bird-song there is often music playing throughout the home, gentle sounds to soothe the soul.

I very much enjoy cooking, so there will often be homemade baking for you to enjoy.
Evening meals are also offered with prior arrangement at an additional cost. I endeavour to aquire local produce and of course fresh vegetables from my garden.

Although I have not travelled far I love to meet people from other lands and cultures. My life has very much been one of a "lifestyle" choice, yet I am keen to travel in the future.

My motto in life is "DO WHAT YOU LOVE " and "Dismiss whatever insults the soul".
