About Piskopiano Village

Tiered into the slopes of the Harakas mountain, Piskopiano is one of the oldest villages in this region of Crete. So old in fact, it’s got basilica ruins dating back to the 6th century. It sits halfway between the hillside village of Koutouloufari and the seaside town of Hersonissos. And in staying true to its historic roots it’s kept things about as traditionally Greek as you can get. Whitewashed walls, sky-blue shutters and wrought-iron balconies sit hip-to-hip along slender climbing streets. But it doesn’t stop there. Its 16th-century church of Aghios Ioannis and the Museum of Rural Life provide injections of culture, while rickety blue tables and chairs prop up against whitewashed houses, and views coast down over terracotta rooftops to the sea.

We enjoyed our stay in the clean appartment at mika's very much despite minor deficiencies. The host manolis and his staff were very welcoming and friendly. The appartment is mimimalistic furnished but there is everything you need. There is also a small supermarket a pool and a bar in mikas Village which is comfortable. The air in our Room was very sticky during our stay, but there is aircondition for extra price if needed. Its located in a small, quiet village with a few nice restaurants but nevertheless the street and the dogs around mikas can be noisy sometimes, also during the night. One morning we didnt have any water in the shower or the kitchen sink, but it came back within one hour so we didnt need to report it. Unfortunately the beds were too hard for us but that depends on preference. The wifi was excellent during our stay which was very important for us for planning our trips! Manolis is a very friendly, happy and likeable host and very helpful with Recommendations. He always answered promptly to my messages. We also found the place easily with (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps. We can fully recommend a stay at mika villas because of the friendly and relaxed people and the very good price performance ratio.

The accomodations were adequate. The villas had a very young crowd. The villas were fairly easy to find as people from the town knew where it was. Though stated in the description, please remember that air conditioning is a separate fee per night. My two issues with my stay were the very weak wifi and the overall bad smell of our bathroom. Also the cleaning lady came into our room while we were away and fixed our sheets but didn't leave any new towels. The next village over was very cute with several restaurants. I won't be a repeat visitor to Mika Villas but it may work for those on a budget.

I feel very sorry to know that you didnt enjoy your holiday ! The issues stated like weak wi fi ,bad smell in the bathroom and not changing towels everyday no matter maids were making the regular cleaning service could be very easily answered 1)Wi Fi sometimes can be weak on a certain time of the day since no matter that we have the faster connection if there are may people in will go a bit slow and that it is coomon sense and happens in all public WI FI connections 2) The bad smell in the bathroom ,it is something that as soon as you noticed you should have mentioned it at the reception but since you didnt, i suppose it was not really bad in terms of annoying you ! 3) You stayed only 2 days by us and you got fresh towels 1 time which is exactly what expected The service provided is every 3 days towels everyday maids service and once a week all linen Even though we never refused towels or anything else you probaply would like unless you are asking for it As a conglusion i think that all the issues making feel you unconfortable would be very easily solved if you have make a small effort to conduct us and talk We are always trying to keep all our Guests happy and offer them the best Sorry that we fail in your case .!

The studio at Mika Villas was comfortable with a great view. It is close to good restaurants and walking distance from the beach (although you may want to take a taxi for the trip back because it is uphill). The pools were sparkling clean and very inviting in the midday heat. Manolis was very helpful and arranged for a taxi to pick us up from the port. There was somebody waiting for us when we arrived even though it was very early in the morning.

Thank you Mika and Helen for your availability and your great reception! Your place is hard to find... But totally worth it! The room is clean and nice, just above the swimming pool. The location is very good to visit the area of Heraklion.
