Brand new (5.26.17!) Homesteader Cabin! The house has taken months to get up and running, and we're very proud to say it finally is set to welcome new pioneers. If you're looking for seclusion, quiet, calm, and sweet desert serenity you've come to the right place :)

The space

The property is 5 acres, with unoccupied 5 acre parcels all around it. The cabin is fully fenced with a gate. The space is a studio: there is a living area with a large 4k tv (HBO and Netflix), the kitchen has all you would need to cook (fridge, microwave, stovetop, dishwasher, toaster, pots, pans, cutlery, spices, olive oil, coffee, tea), bathroom, and a bedroom nook. The cabin has both heating and air conditioning. There is a spectacular deck for sitting outside and taking in the glorious view. We just added the cowboy tub - it's bath tub sized and ready to be filled with fresh water, takes about 5 minutes. (never someone else's water! :)

Other things to note

Please only book if you're looking to escape the world! The house is on 4 miles of a dirt road, that is traversable by any car. Adventurers only :)

Please respect the house and property as you would your own home. We've worked extremely hard renovating the house from its dilapidated state, it feels like an extension of ourselves!

Any film or photo related bookings need explicit permission prior to putting in a reservation request. Regardless of the particular budget, we have to charge additional fees due to the nature of these bookings and our prior experiences :/

No music is allowed outside, and please only very respectfully inside. The house is very secluded and private but any sound travels at the speed of light in the thin unobstructed desert air and miles away neighbors can get cranky!

Any guests above the number the booking was made for must be announced beforehand, even if they're 'not staying over' ! Thank you!

You'll love this well appointed place... down a secluded dirt road, olive farm near by and some cool abandoned buildings...nice deck with a great cowboy bath. Use it! And enjoy the amazing sunrises and night sky too. Great place to be after a strenuous hike in JT Nat'l park.

We will absolutely be back to this wonderful place! I can't wait. Feels like being at home, but in the middle of a desert wonderland.

Place itself is great, well designed, clean, and very private. Directions to get there were very unclear. Make sure you talk to the host and get very specific directions or you will have a very hard time!!!

We had a great time exploring the property around the Leeds Cabin. There are some great opportunities for photos and the sunsets are amazing. The cabin had everything we needed and was a perfect getaway for us. We didn't have a chance to eat in town, but we did try the coffee at the Joshua Tree Coffee Company and I highly recommend it.

Ryan User ProfileRyan is a superhost.

I'm Ryan, I've been out in Joshua Tree for 3 years. Falling in love with the high desert kind of took me my surprise. It is so incredibly peaceful, tranquil, serene, and inspirational. It's a great place to 'get away from it all' and discover your connections with nature and with yourself. I have a few places out here, all projects that I bought in rundown rough shape and fixed up myself.
My first one is in the Joshua Tree Village (JT Village Park Blvd one) that is rented as a house (for up to 4 people), a guest house (2 people, JT Village GH one), and both together (6-7 people, the "Full Experience" listing). They're within walking distance to the little town: the Saloon, Crossroads, the local Farmer's market, the National Park Visitor's center, the JT Health Foods store.
The other ones (360, Land of the Lost Boulders, Starfire, Chaparral Mesa, the Power Plant and the Outpost) are all within 15 minutes from the town. The Leeds Cabin is 25 minutes. 360 is about incredible views, boulders, and wildlife - more adorable animals than I've seen anywhere in the Morongo Basin. The Lost Boulders house sits on the most serene and explorable land, and has a spectacular energy inside. Starfire has an unmatched setting - perched on top of a hill, the only house on that hill, overlooking it's own mini canyon. The design and feeling at Chaparral Mesa is the most 'frontier'' - a true feeling of being a pioneer in a homesteader cabin. The Power Plant of the Dorthian Löwen (looow-ven), all about sleek modern minimal design, a clutter-free experience that brings out the gorgeous desert colors in the mountains that surround. The Leeds Cabin is a small all-you-need cabin with nothing but beautiful quiet desert surrounds. My most recent project, the Outpost, I picture back in the Wild West a place that you've traveled for a full day to get to, to find out news from back East and rest your head and horse for the night.
I love each and every one of them, they've all been important and valued stages in my life. They have become a part of who I am.
I'd be happy to help plan your time out here, and let me know if you have any questions about the projects or the area in general. They are much more than 'airbnb's to me - I love each and every one of them!
