Instructions and House rules:
Welcome to my Gorgeous Home near Boquete!
We don't like setting a lot of rules, but a couple of guidelines may be a
- Feel free to use coffee, tea and sugar, toilet paper, soap, and detergents,
but try to leave some for the next guests, even if that means you have to
buy any products.
- There are piles of towels for you to grab and use. Please do not leave
piles of towels to wash for the cleaners :)
- During the rainy reason, do run the ceiling fans and the
and de-humidifiers as much as you feel comfortable with.
It will help to keep our and your belongings in good condition.
However, electricity is VERY expensive so we ask you kindly to use
the airconditioners sparingly and switch them off when you're not
- Boquete Canyon Village is a safe park. The security guards do an
excellent job. But, burglaries and thefts happen everywhere in the world,
and we don't want a bad experience to ruin your vacation.
Lock the house when you are not there, and for the night. It may take a bit
of skill to lock the terrace doors: push them together with some force and
move the little click button.
Hide your valuables in non-obvious spots (under your pillow or mattress is
too obvious!). Don't leave anything outside, on the terrace, or in your
car, that could be stolen.
- On the fridge in the kitchen you will find emergency numbers.
Treat the house like your own. Things break, that's life. Just replace what
you break or lose with a similar item, or leave a fair payment before you
leave. I love animals, but as a lot of people have allergies, I don't allow
any pets in the house. The house is non smoking area. If you wish to smoke,
please do so outside, in such a manner that the smoke cannot travel in. Do
not leave any cigaret buds in the garden, and be careful in the dry season
not to start a bush fire!
Like other Latin American countries, Panama struggles with water and
electricity outages from time to time. Please keep in mind that Panama is
Panama and things don't always go or work the way you may be used to.
Appliances are of less quality (even if they have well known brand names),
things stop functioning or break down just like that.
If an appliance breaks down we will send for a technician immediately, but
they may not be able to fix the problem during your stay. Even if other
landlords do not warn you about these possible setbacks, be aware that
every home owner in Panama has to deal with these issues! To avoid any
problems with the water supply we recently equipped the house with a huge water tank installed, so you will still be able to shower and use the
bathrooms, up to 3 days. The tap-water is potable thanks to the UV system.
The solar panels provide enough electricity for the fridge and lamps during an outage.
