Situated on the outskirts of Nottingham, the city is a 15 minute bus ride away. We have a split level house and the guest accommodation is on the lower level with a separate, lockable entrance overlooking the garden.

The space

Our split level house is situated on top of a hill in Mapperley, 5 Km from the city centre. A 5 minute walk away is the main bus route into Nottingham which takes 15 minutes.
( Buses run every 7-10 minutes. )

Guest access

Guests are welcome to use our kitchen and there are coffee and tea making facilities in the bedroom. The guest room has a separate lockable entrance, through my craft room, with access to a large garden with a seating/smoking area.

Interaction with guests

You are welcome to come and go independently, though we are on hand to help with travel advice etc.

Other things to note

There is ample parking outside the house and free wifi.

Initially advertised as a double, but more suitable as a single. Bearing in mind the low price we paid, value for money. This is not a 4 star hotel, by any means, but with a decent TV and free Wi-Fi and a good host, the English weather (rain and cold) did not show this at its best. Access to the shared kitchen is from an outside, unsheltered stair-case, so not feasible if still in your night attire and it is raining. It wasn't warm enough or dry enough to enjoy the outdoor area. A few personal niggles such as no wardrobe hanging space and difficulty in drying the bath towels, but again, this was a budget stay.

Jan is a great host. She is very warm and friendly. She also gave me a lot of local informations. Jan's house has a beautiful garden ,and many local amenities are near by . The room I was staying has en-suite shower room, really convenient.

Reasonable size room. It's in the basement of an old property. Needed the small heater on all the time as it was cold and it was only Sept. Lots of drawers but no hanging space. V good wifi.

Very residential area. Not far from main shops and restaurants (10mins walk). Private entrance to accommodation and en-suite. I did not need to use the kitchen facilities. Jan was a wonderful and polite host and allowed flexibility to check in time.
