At the beginning of the beautiful Ardnamurchan peninsular, Ard Daraich is 8 miles south of Fort William with a romantic 5 minute ferry crossing. Close to the Nevis Range and Glencoe but off the beaten track and by the sea. You can hear the silence.
The Tudor Room is perfect for romantic couples or if you are traveling with friends, book the Italian Room as well and stay either as B&B or on a self catering basis; the choice is yours.
The Tudor Room is the largest bedroom at Ard Daraich with a kingsized fourposter bed, huge orietal rug and oil painting of a summer garden. Decorated with an interesting collection of art, this is a grand room for a comfortable stay.
The shared bathroom has deep cast iron bath and hand held shower. The walls are pine lined and there are lots of pictures to look at whilst having a soak. Delicious organic soap, bubble bath and shampoo, all made locally, are also supplied with large white bath sheets. All designed to make you feel spoilt and relaxed.
There is a walk in shower and second lavatory downstairs if you prefer.
Ard Daraich is a private house which offers a comfortable bed and a delicious breakfast. In the tradition of B&B we expect everyone to go out and explore the area during the day. Situated in a remote part of Scotland on the opposite side of Loch Linnhe from Fort William and a five minute ferry crossing away, we ask our visitors to respect that it is a home and not a hotel. Public transport is scarce and there is no taxi service, so a visit here is only possible by car as we do not serve meals except breakfast. The sitting room is available in the evenings for relaxation.
Interaction with guests
We lend all the local maps and are available at breakfast to help with tourist advise, ferry bookings and booking a table for dinner. Off the beaten track, we can help you with our local knowledge to enjoy your visit to this less well known part of the west Highlands.
We (Norrie and Anna) run the B&B almost single handed and so we ask you to respect our time and appreciate how busy we are to keep the standard we know our visitors appreciate.
Other things to note
We have a large garden with Rhododendron collection and small plantsman's nursery. Wonderful views down Loch Linnhe and over to Glencoe from benches placed at vantage points, you are welcome to explore on your own or ask for a garden tour from Norrie after breakfast. Ard Daraich Produce is for sale as a gift to take home.
