The flat is as per photos, new and amenities as listed. Key collection point is a bit far to walk with heavy or bulky luggage and kid(s) in tow. Nearest metro station to walk to the flat is the South Quay station, a 10 minute walk in normal pace compared to a 20 minute walk from Canary Wharf station on the Jubilee line or the DLR.
Tesco Express just down the block and also an Asian grocery store which is extremely near (not more than 2 minutes' walk at normal pace from door to door) and very convenient to fetch almost anything you need, including for cooking meals.
Basic cooking condiments and utensils are provided. A basket of canned products was also provided but do verify the expiry date before consuming as one of the items provided expired five months ago.
A personal penchant for an island style kitchen hob and could have been even greater if instructions were provided on how to use some of the appliances in case they were not idiot proof as would not want to damage them to the inconvenience of the host and future guests. This was probably what happened that sees the washer out of order for my stay but host made alternative arrangements for my laundry be taken care of after some communication. Fool proof way for any place you stay is to (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) the appliance brand/model for the online instructions booklet in a language that you'd understand, a practice picked up from another flat I stayed previously that has every instructions booklet provided but only in the local language, which was alien to me.
Wifi was good as we had four devices which would be surfing at the same time for most of the time spent in the flat.
Issues occurred during our stay which the host got them settled though he was travelling out of the country and in a different time zone. He also constantly checked on us to ensure that the issues were resolved and on my part, updated him on the developments as he's also on a holiday that everyone wished for it to be one that is stress free. The building water supply disruption during my stay hopefully becomes a 101 Crisis Management lesson should it recur during stay by future guests.
Suggestions/comments for TLC and wish list have been provided to the host for future/better guest experience.
Overall, we were pleased with this place, except perhaps for the street noise (early morning garbage truck, speeding cars, etc) and a flat from the opposite block that had a noisy overnight party on a week night!
Will definitely consider staying again if visiting London but for summer, may require a fan.
