Big, bright Philadelphia row home and urban oasis with gorgeous roof deck, 4 bedrooms, and 2 full baths (2,000+ sq/ft). Set on a quiet, tree-lined block steps away from the Italian Market and walking distance to charming Queen Village, Society Hill, East Passyunk and Old City neighborhoods (including a very historic 20-minute ramble up to Independence Hall).
Because this classic brick townhouse is a bit wider and deeper than most, it offers significantly more light and space than other neighborhood homes. The downstairs living spaces are open all the way through, with a wide living room, separate dining area and spacious, recently remodeled kitchen. Out back is a small patio with two trees, table and chairs, a fire pit, charcoal grill and a mosaic by famed local artist, Isaiah Zagar!
The second floor includes a large, sunny bedroom with high ceilings and a queen bed, plus a smaller bedroom with a crib/bed (best for a baby or young child, although floor sleeping is an option for an older child or adult). Also on the second floor: a full bathroom with tub and shower, plus a hallway sitting room great for reading or an extra play space for small children.
The third floor has a sunny study with a single daybed and a double (full) futon. Down the hall is another, smaller bedroom with a double (full) bed. This floor also features a spacious landing and another bathroom with shower.
From April-October the roof deck becomes the "fourth floor" and a unique urban oasis. Planted with climbing vines, flowers, fruits and vegetables, and including two levels, a pergola, two different dining tables (one an 8-foot cedar picnic table), two sitting hammocks, a gas grill, a water table and toys for the kids, you can spend hours relaxing above it all with a view of the nearby city skyline, or just pop out with your morning cup of coffee.
The house is fully baby-proofed, with optional stairway gates at no additional charge. We can also provide additional kid-friendly amenities (i.e. high chair) upon request, along with a selection of toys to keep younger children happy during your stay.
- This is a rowhome on a street with lots of families, so please observe quiet hours (including on roof deck) from 10 PM - 7 AM.
- Please leave your shoes inside the door (or carry them to the roof!).
