Response from Kim:
Lovely young couple who really appreciated the peace of the countryside around us and we enjoyed some great chats too! We would love to see them again in Devon and hope one day, they will come back to stay in our cottage.

Kim and Bernard's cottage is a secluded paradise! It is a very well equipped, detached building behind their house and is so quiet and peaceful you'll never want to leave. The nearest pub is a five minute drive (twenty min walk) and beaches are at 45 minute drive from the cottage. Both Kim and Bernard are very friendly and welcoming, but leave you be and are far from intrusive. Highly recommended!

Beautiful spot tucked away down a narrow Devon lane, (a bit hard to find) with country views and a lovely garden full of many sorts of birds. Within walking distance of pretty Lydford village, which has two pubs with excellent food. Lydford Gorge is well worth a visit. The barn is very comfortable and well appointed.

Kims place is wonderful. If you like peace and quiet and nature and to watch a huge variety of British birds feeding at the birdfeeders, this is the perfect place. The lane at the back takes you up on to the moors and the local pub in Lydford serves wonderful food. For a real treat head to the Elephants Nest in Mary Tavy. Do not miss the circular walk to the waterfall in Lydford Gorge, its really special.

Having started my life as a "townie" I now feel so much more at home on Dartmoor with the open Moorland on my doorstep and surrounded by farmland.
I am passionate about horses and own 4 beautiful white boys so you may see me riding one of them on my way to the Moor with my dog running alongside too.
My husband Bernard, is French but has lived much longer in England than France and even has an English sense of humour so I am very lucky because he is also an excellent cook!
I am the sort of person who likes to do everything in comfort and style which I hope you will see both in Hartsmead Cottage and on our property, but both my husband and I have always loved working in the garden and getting our hands dirty with all the jobs that need doing.
When we lived in France we also had a holiday home so we are very pleased to welcome people to our home and if the guests require any help or information, we are happy to stand and chat or if guests prefer more privacy a quick hello is all we need.
I believe in live and let live providing no living creature is harmed in any way.
