Wonderful place. I did another full review on this casa, so I'll get this one shorter. I would recommend to those thinking of staying here. Location is Central Havana. Close proximity to many other popular areas. About 30min walk to Old Havana, 15min to Malecon, 10min to university, 2min to Callejon de Hamel. House is located on the top floor, stairs kind of steep but no complaints - good for exercise. Staff answers the door. The ladies are very friendly and welcoming. The front roomie nice and modern, there's two balconies (one overlooking the street and the other outside yellow room), the kitchen is also very modern (only staff uses the kitchen). The room is very clean and comfortable and is equipped with AC. The bathroom also clean, updated, and has hot water (make sure to request in advance). Breakfast was excellent and was provided upon request for $5CUC. You recieve a full Cuban breakfast (eggs, potatoes, meat, veggies, bread, cheese, fruit, milk, coffee, juice). If you need assistance just ask staff, they will help. Abdel assisted with both of my day trips (took an all inclusive bus to Varadero one day and a shared taxi to Viñales another). You can either ask the staff help you with getting a taxi or just walk outside and hail one. You'll be on a popular street so it shouldn't be a problem. Overall, I would stay here again and would recommend this casa!

Dear Chantel! It was an extraordinary experience to have you both there in our property in Havana. The Staff just love you, even more, when you returned. They just miss you. I am so glad that you did really appreciate and visit the different places around the House. That I am sure gave you an excellent idea of how the real Havana is. We do wait for you anytime you want. Just let me know. All the best. Very sincerely, Alfredo.

The stay here was great. The house is down the street from the University, a few blocks from el Malecon, and around the corner from Callejon de Hamel ( all places that should be checked out). Alfredo's place is on the top floor, so be prepared to walk up a few flights of steep steps. It's good for exercise though and you get use to them. The staff answers the door. All the ladies were just so lovely. We were able to overcome any language barriers pretty easily. I stayed in blue room off the kitchen. The room and the bathroom were very clean and comfortable. The room has AC, so it was perfect coming back to the room to cool off. Make sure to request hot water, it'll be very warm. I requested breakfast multiple times. Make sure to request the night before and you will pay the staff in cash ($5CUC) after breakfast. You get a lot for the money and the food was very good Cuban breakfast (eggs, meat, potatoes, lots of fruit, veggies, bread, cheese, milk, coffee, juice). If you need a taxi, just ask the staff they can help. If for some reason the taxi can't get you, just walk out the front door and hail one yourself. the house is on a popular street so you won't have a problem with trying to find a taxi, they are everywhere. Make sure to negotiate price upfront to get the best deal for you ride. Abdel, the house manager, assisted me with the day trips I took (Viñales and Varadero). Both trips were great. I suggest you look into visiting both of those places as well, you won't be disappointed. Alfredo's home is located in Central Havana. Perfect place to stay, walking distance to many places (Old Havana, el Malecon, etc). Alfredo was very helpful beforehand with questions that I had and all arrangements. I recommend staying at Alfredo's place as I plan on coming back and staying here again myself. Thank you for the wonderful experience while in Cuba.

Alfredo's place was a beautiful space. Our room, the blue room, was beautifully decorated and the bathroom was very nice. The terrace areas and kitchen common spaces were also very nice. The staff was helpful and available 24 hours and breakfast was simple but tasty. The location is great if you are looking to see a part of the city outside of Havana Vieja. Its close to the university, the malecon, and around the corner from the famous community art and Rumba block, Callejon Hammel. We only stayed one night but were quite pleased.

Hi, Saidikie! Thank you very much for your clear comment. I am glad you had a great stay in our property. When there is decency, good manners and desire to solve problems, those situations are diffused. The Staff was very pleased to have you there. All and all your time was fantastic and that is what counts. All the best, Alfredo.

Had an amazing experience staying at Alfredo's place for my first trip to Cuba. Very honest and transparent about life in Cuba. His place is in central Habana and easy to get around. Loved the themed color rooms and highly recommend the orange room if you can get in there. The hosts are a pleasure and breakfast was fresh every morning. I would recommend this to anyone. Central Habana is where it's at.

I'm the patriarch of the Garcia family. We left Cuba nearly three decades ago to start a new life in Canada. I studied medicine at the University of Havana and obtained a PhD in Germany at the University of Rostock. I'm semi-retired and work mostly for my children (who are physicians themselves and need my help running their practices). I also help manage rental property our family has in the U.S.
My wife and I have been married for 41 years and have two children (boy and girl) and one grandson with another one on the way!
Given the recent socio-economical changes in Cuba, our family decided to purchase rental property and offer it to the world to see and experience the Cuba our family knows and loves.
I'm an avid music lover and a world traveler. I still have a number of destinations to get to! Would love to hear any and all travel stories you got for me!! I'm also happy to answer thoroughly and truthfully any and all question you may have about our property, Cuba, its people, its culture, its past, its present, and future.

Safe travels! and hope to communicate soon
