Baraka Lodge Bed and Breakfast is located in our secure home compound in the Arusha suburb of Njiro.. With 4 self-contained rooms and a kitchen/dining area we provide an intimate service-oriented environment at a budget price that you will enjoy.
Your hosts Geoff and Frederica Gaskell are an Australian/Tanzanian couple who established Baraka Lodge, made up of 4 double rooms, each with its own bathroom, on our house block in Njiro, a suburb of Arusha, in 2011.
We are only 2kms from a nearby main road with all facilities and can arrange transport to and fro, including to the centre of Arusha, as required.
We have welcomed many guests since who have all enjoyed the peace and service we provide in an intimate home-like environment, with a high standard of security.
Guests may prepare their own meals in our kitchen/dining room or have meals prepared by prior arrangement. Breakfast is included in the very reasonable current overnight charge of US$25pp for a single room or US$20pp sharing. We can provide special rates for longer-term or group bookings.
Enquiries and bookings are welcome and potential guests are invited to access our website (URL HIDDEN) for more details.
Guests have access to the dining room/kitchen area at all times as well as their rooms. Your hosts live on site and are available at most times for assistance, company and service. Wifi is available free.
Interaction with guests
We interact with guests at breakfast and at other times for social gatherings and discussions on local and international issues, including help with travel arrangements.
Other things to note
We have enjoyed having guests from many countries over the past 4 years and we believe that our personal service is second to none. We provide WiFi as a service to our guests.
Guests are expected to communicate their needs, especially for transport, and advise of movements especially at night. Economical use of water is encouraged.
I am an Australian married to a Tanzanian with 5 children; we moved to Tanzania from Australia in 2009 and began our bed and breakfast business in 2012. We enjoy meeting new guests and providing the best service we can to them. We love our children and try to visit them in Australia every year but we also have our Tanzanian family here and we help with two local orphanages. My wife Frederica loves cooking (and can cook for guests), while I enjoy reading, environmental issues and growing herbs in our greenhouse for local businesses.
