A cargo ship, once upon a while ... once you took the walkway, you embark on a first terrace with Weber bbq. Open the window and you are in the living room, wonderfully light and fresh. Through a passage you get into the kitchen and the dining room. Please note, not a fabulous Swedish thing, but delicious DIY! The spacious bedroom with "doubler" looks out over the dock in Turnhout, believe me, romantic ... The bathroom is comfortable and equipped with shower. The wheelhouse is ideal for reading events. Zin?

We've had a super nice stay! Everything was super clean and super comfortable. The communication with host was super easy and we can ask him everything. It's cool for young and old people. Can't wait to book it for the next time :)!

A last minute, late night search on the app and Tom's 1925 built converted 50m freighter popped up. It was a pleasant surprise to say the least. Tom responded with a confirmation first thing in the morning. Am not sure about public transit and I drove here with the assistance of Dr (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). This is a quieter area of Turnhout and the only external noises were from the canal bells and the occasional truck at the factory opposite. Tom and his happy dog Isy were there to greet me and he showed me around his ship which is a travelling studio/print making space and night club in two sections. The living quarters are large with a bunch of books, records, blankets and leather couches. Adjacent is a well equipped kitchen/dining area and clean and warm bathroom. The sleeping quarters are at the rear and a sort of step up queen sized double bed. There is an interesting morning coffee space on the bridge (drivers cabin) up a few steps. It got a bit cold in the night and a little turning up the heating helped immediately. There is no wifi on the ship but after a first few hours without a mobile signal, the 4G kicked in and was ok. What appears to be an upmarket and slick restaurant is next door. Tom was warm and entertaining and made a lot of effort to ensure that all was well. A very interesting experience and worth a repeat and most certainly recommended, especially to folks who appreciate funky, laid back and art studio spaces.

Enorme aanrader!
