We offer two levels of a renovated east end house in Leslieville. Public transit seconds away makes it easy to access the whole city. Great for families and small groups.

Walk to the local brewery, shop along Queen East, and dine at amazing restaurants, or just hit up the Burger joint down the street - all within walking distance. This east end neighbourhood is a great place to stay or to use as a relaxing home base while heading downtown for events.

The space

Here’s what is awesome about our house: open concept kitchen that is great for chefs (or aspiring chefs) with a full complement of cooking utensils, two living areas (one with tv, one with a perfect window for people watching and reading), a big dining table good both for eating, playing board games, or doing crafts, a comfy porch perfect for sitting with a glass of wine, and did I mention the King size bed in the master bedroom? We've also recently added our third storey upper deck to the listing - Muskoka chairs make this a great sun spot during the day and quiet respite for evening.

This house is great for a family or a small group, from all backgrounds and walks of life, who are looking for a quiet home away from home. We’ve set up a guest account on our Netflix and there’s a computer with free wifi. We also have cable TV and a land line. We couldn’t survive without this stuff, so we don’t see why you should have to – especially on vacation!

Now, all those awesome things aside, this is a 100 year house. This means that the stairs can be a bit creaky and the walls are less noise proof than newer houses. You will hear each other from room to room and going up and down the stairs. We are a detached house, but we are still pretty close to the neighbours - and we like them! - so following the house rules regarding noise (especially while enjoying our outdoor spaces) is essential. We, your hosts, live in a (completely separate) apartment in the basement.

Parking is available by visiting permit. We've set up a computer and printer in (also handy for printing boarding passes, etc.) so that you can purchase and print your parking pass when you arrive. Parking is on the street, so there is no reserved spot but there is generally quite a bit of space in our parking "zone."

We have worked hard to make the space inviting and relaxing and we hope that you'll enjoy it respectfully. When sending your request, please include a short message about your plans, so we can ensure that our house is the best fit for you.

Guest access

You will have access to three bedrooms, 1.5 baths, kitchen, living room, dining room, sitting room, front porch, and upper roof deck. You will access the space via the front (main) door.

You will not have access to the upper front porch off the master bedroom. You will not have access to the back main floor deck. You will not have access to the basement nor the backyard, as this is a separate unit (where we, the hosts, live).

You will not have access to laundry.

There is no smoking anywhere on the property, inside or outside.

Please note: The bookshelves are NOT a library, so please feel free to browse, but do not take any books home with you.

Interaction with guests

We’re here as little or as much as you’d like. We'll let you take the lead - you won't hear a peep from us unless you'd like to. (Bear in mind - we do love giving recommendations!)

We usually do a self check in, which lets guests arrive as per their schedule. If you would like to be greeted in person, we will definitely do that as long as timing allows (sometimes we're at work...).

We'll check in (virtually) a few times before you arrive and then maybe once or twice during your stay. If you text us, though, we'll be very responsive and happy to meet your requirements!

Other things to note

We love hosting families! If you are booking for your family, and you are traveling with more than two children 12 and under, feel free to mark the third and fourth as infants (but let us know in your booking message - total guests is still limited to six - please message if you are more than that) so that you are not charged the extra guest rate. All guests over 12 should be included on the reservation and the party will be charged as per the extra person rules.

This is a quiet rental - it's a residential neighbourhood with lots of kids and people who get up early for work. There is no loud music/tv allowed at any time and there are quiet hours after 9pm on weekdays and 11pm on weekends.

Bear in mind that cats do live on premises in the basement (but not in the AirBNB space). If you have cat allergies this is likely not the rental for you as the cats have been in the main space and have been on the furniture, etc. and the house is on one air system.

The house was built in 1913, so heating and cooling it is tricky (and definitely isn't the consistency you would get in a newer home or a hotel). To make your stay comfortable, you can change the thermostat as needed and there are also extra blankets and ceiling fans in all bedrooms and in the living room. Please also feel free to open the windows (with screens) (but close them if you turn on the air conditioning). Please do not leave the doors open as bugs can enter the home.

There is a security camera mounted on the ceiling of the front porch that is pointed away from the house towards the street.

- If you stay past check out without pre-arrangement, you will be charged $50/hour.

Must climb stairs - The bedrooms are on the second floor, so one flight of stairs is required.
Pet(s) live on property - Two cats live in the basement apartment. They do not share space with the AirBnB rental.
No parking on property - We have available street parking by visitor's permit. We're happy to modify the price of your booking to include this and can print it for you.

Excellent property. Allison and Court are the benchmark for proactive, caring AirBnb hosts in a superb welcoming house totally refurbished and updated to a high standard of furnishings, high end appliances, dishes, gourmet cookware, and lovely linens. Located is the quiet east end Leslieville neighbourhood with ready access to downtown Toronto, this spotlessly clean property has everything we needed and more for our 5 night stay. The excellent heating and air conditioning system ensured whole house comfort. All pre and post arrival questions answered immediately together with excellent advice - hosts are readily available but never intrusive. We will choose this amazing value-for-money property for our return to Toronto.

My family had such a wonderful stay at Allison's place! Communication was always easy with Allison and Court, from planning the trip and checking-in to figuring out some minor issues during our stay. They were very responsive. The place was exactly as we expected and hoped, and very true to the description and photos. The kitchen was well-stocked, which allowed us to prepare and enjoy our meals at home. That was a real plus for us during a 10-day stay with my parents, sister and young nephew. It was also great to have lots of space so that we my nephew could nap during the day or go to bed early at night without us having to tiptoe around as we might have needed to do in a smaller place or a hotel room. We thoroughly enjoyed the front porch outdoor space and the neighbourhood was quiet, safe, and very family friendly. Parking on the street was also easy and we were able to get around by foot, transit, and car very efficiently. We already can't wait for our next stay at Allison's place and highly recommend it!

Thank you for the fantastic nine days we had in Toronto and at your place! Your home is awesome and looks exactly like in the pictures - very clean, warm and lovely. Allison and Court are perfect host, having food and drinks ready when we arrived - we really appreciated that. All questions were effectively answered in a second (Thx again Allison for Jutta`s Toronto Adventure Map) and we felt very comfortable. I can highly recommend this wonderful place!
