Our stay at the house was a pleasant one. The neighborhood is conveniently located in Mevasseret Zion not far off Route 1, so it is reachable by car from Jerusalem (ten minutes or so,) the airport, or Tel Aviv (less than an hour.) The location is very suitable for a vacationing couple or small family with a car. Street parking is easily available in Mevasseret, though difficult in Jerusalem, so we took day trips to Jerusalem (use a car park) or to nearby attractions in the Judean region.
The living quarters themselves are spacious, clean, and new, with a modern stove and fridge to save on eating out, and a shower with plenty of pressure and hot water. It’s a place to settle for a few days or a week, cook, eat in, wash clothes, and use as a base for a holiday. A large shopping center with a supermarket and fast-food restaurants is just outside the neighborhood, while small groceries are a walking distance, so shopping is easy. The area is quiet and safe, good for long walks in the cool evening.
Our hosts were gracious and hospitable. Shuki helped us on the phone navigate our way to the place after our GPS steered us a bit off, driving to meet us just outside the neighborhood. Ran later stopped by with a bottle of wine and honey-cake, a nice addition to the bowl of fruit already on the table. All in all, it is excellent value for money.
