Spacious light filled private room with private bath across the hall in a 1912 Arts and Crafts house in historic Grove Park neighborhood within walking distance, an easy drive or quick Uber to heart of Downtown and even closer to Grove Park Inn, UNC-A, Asheville Yoga Center, 2 parks, several neighborhood restaurants, a beer & wine store, and great local ice cream shop. Two blocks from public transit.
Upstairs bedroom with queen bed. Additional space for 3rd and/or 4th quest on a twin size IKEA couch in the main room and a single bed in an adjacent room. Private bathroom across the hall with clawfoot tub. Beautiful wrap around porch to relax with your morning coffee or a book and afternoon cup of tea. My house does not have central air, which is not unusual in this area, but does have A/C window units in the bedrooms for your comfort.
Guest have access to private bedroom, bath and front porch. TV and kitchen use can be requested and may be available depending on the owner's plans and schedule. For a 3rd and/or 4th person, there is a single bed available in an adjacent room.
Interaction with guests
I am excited to share my home with guest while also respecting their privacy. I am on the go and very active so may not be around when you come and go. I am an avid hiker and happy to suggest beautiful hikes nearby.
Other things to note
My home is over 100 years old and has lots of character along with a few quirks. The house features certainly suit the era it was built. I have a senior dog. FYI my house does not have central air but there are A/C units in the bedrooms for your comfort. Temperatures in Asheville dip at night so nice just about year around to sleep with the windows open.
Please be respectful of the home and neighborhood. Quiet time after 11 pm. TV room and kitchen not always available. Please talk to owner if you would like to request TV or kitchen time. The front porch is always open to guest. The side porch is available when not in use by owner.
From Oct 1 - Nov 4, 2017 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
I am a North Carolina native and came to Asheville in 2003 after living in Atlanta for 23 years. I have 4 grown children that live in Connecticut, Boston, Baltimore and Atlanta. I loved having a house full of kids so seemed a natural fit to host folks in my home through AirBnB. It is a pleasure to share my love of Asheville with my guests. I stay pretty busy with so much to do here: gardening, yoga, hiking, volunteering, going to concerts, festivals, breweries and independent films. My favorite thing of all is playing with my two precious granddaughters. Life is good!
