Nestled amongst the trees on a hillside which overlooks Lake Okanagan and the mountains beyond, our special upper suite awaits. Welcome to our cozy Nest! Our peaceful neighbourhood, is the closest Okanagan Lake-side community to UBCO and the Kelowna Airport. Perfect for walking, exploring, relaxing. One complimentary bottle of VQA wine upon arrival and cold, bottled glacier water waiting in the fridge. Five minute walk to lake with beach.

The space

Lounge in the new, queen-sized bed which looks directly out upon the beautiful view. Please note: the 'bedroom' is separated by a wall from the living room space, but it does not have a door so as to maximize the view. There is a full walk-in, well lit closet with a full length mirror and door for changing.

Enjoy your own private, upper deck, perfect for a morning coffee, warm evenings of star-gazing, or lazy afternoons over-looking the lake (in suite binoculars at the ready.)

The public dock and beach is wonderful for sitting and quiet reflection in the spring and fall and, of course, swimming on those heavenly beach days of summer. On cooler days, curl up with a good book in front of your cozy electric fireplace.

Or head out for a winter adventure of world class skiing and boarding on the powdery slopes of Big White or Silver Star Mountains, both approximately one hour away.

Feeling inspired? We have a wall-sized chalk board in your kitchen/dining area that's perfect for jotting down that new theory, or maybe the brilliant opening line to that novel you've always wanted to write. (Or, at the very least, your grocery list, a doodle or a quick game of x's and o's!) Speaking of games, we have the classics - Scrabble, Chess, a deck of cards, Backgammon and Battleship.

There is also a sketch book for you to use. Leave your sketches for the next guest to enjoy, or feel free to take your masterpiece out of the book to take along home with you.

There are binoculars at the ready to figure out 'what the heck is that' on the lake. Mckinley is a very safe neighbourhood for walking, even at night, but take along the flashlight. Both on the chest by the sliding door.

You may here the yip of a coyote (they live way, way up in the hills behind and are not any concern), or the whoosh of a barn owl's wings above you if you venture out for an evening stroll.

For some quiet reading time there are some magazines and best selling paperbacks to look through.

Sit back and relax and enjoy basic cable on your 43" TV. Or, Chromecast Netflix (from your device), or play your own photo slideshow of your day's adventures (from your device), onto the TV. LG soundbar for your own music to play on (from your device) in the suite (bluetooth or direct usb connect.)

Don't forget to experience the best of both worlds of Kelowna, by venturing only 18 mins into downtown to explore the fantastic restaurants, pubs and entertainment available, and then, leaving the hustle and bustle to return to your peaceful retreat at the end of your adventure.

The Nest is immaculately presented and a beautiful spot to spend a few days! MaryAnn has thought of every little thing you could need, including a generously stocked kitchen for lazy breakfasts with plenty of good coffee! The apartment is beautifully situated by the lake (we were sad the smoke from faraway wildfires impeded the view which would otherwise be stunning) and it is really quiet and peaceful. You are a 20 minute drive from Kelowna but we had no problem organising a wine tour company to pick us up which made our stay easy and convenient. Thank you MaryAnn for all the love and care you put into your place!

WOW! The Nest was absolutely perfect to celebrate our engagement. MaryAnn makes everything seamless! Everything that you could ever need is available for you there: extra toothpaste, maps, tourist information, and even a bottle of wine! I have stayed in Airbnbs in 12 countries and this one is something special. I would absolutely recommend it. If we get the chance, we will go back for sure! Thank you SO much MaryAnn!

Wow! Such a perfect stop to stay! You know when you read all the top ratings, raving about stays and you think they can't possibly be that good, I thought that might be the case... nope, MaryAnn's place is literally that amazing! Even though we weren't able to meet her in person the hospitality went above and beyond what anyone would expect! Her place was just what we wanted and more. Thanks again for the best weekend! I definitely would recommend anyone to stay, just leave a weekend open for us to come back!

The Nest is a Jackpot. MaryAnn is a great host and thinks of everything. We enjoyed the cozyness, the amazing view from the bedroom and balcony and the quiet neighborhood. We even got a bottle of wine. Thank you MaryAnn!

Just perfect! From the first minute you contact MaryAnn for booking the Nest, until you leave the Nest! MaryAnn stay in contact and give us all the nessacery information to get the way to the Nest and also give us so many, helpfull suggestions, from restaurants (DozoSushi) to winetasting (Ex Nihilo). And was still there for help if we needed. The Nest is a place you feel like you're home. So much love is putting in that place, and the view after wacking up is onforgettable. She's thinking about every small detail and there is nothing negative I can say. A lot of hosts could take a part of MaryAnn's vision to rent his appart/house. We continue our adventure but still think a lot about the Nest an how great it would be to have stay longer. I'll recommended to everyone!! And there is also a little suprise for winelovers ;)

I am a graphic designer and my husband works at the high school here in Kelowna, BC and helps special needs students. We have two amazing daughters that we are so proud of! We both come from large, extended families and enjoy welcoming visitors to our home. We have hosted international students and really enjoyed building friendships with them. At home we have a goofy(!) Golden Retriever named Wilson and a rescued Pomeranian named Eddie. Our lovely cat Muffin rules over all. :)
