Ian's place was great. The house was spacious and comfortable, furnished and decorated more like a home than a rental, the kitchen was well supplied with anything you could need to cook meals, and there was a good supply of movies to watch as well as Netflix available. The grounds extended farther back than we thought, and we enjoyed exploring the neighborhood as well as visiting the neighbors horses.

Cozy house with a great view of the mountains. Perfect house to get away - where it's quiet, has a great yard and close to idyllwild for hikes, markets, etc. Plenty of space for a family or friends hanging out for the weekend. Also, Ian and Catherine are very quick to respond if you have any questions during your stay! Thanks for having us!

This house is amazing. One feels as if one has slipped into a bygone era. The decor, furnishings and ambience is fantastic. The place is spacious and every comfort is provided for. We watched a horror movie in the night and the atmosphere (coyotes howling, dogs barking, owls hooting) added to the thrill. Awesome stay and Ian is an awesome host.

What a beautiful place for a family getaway. So much space for us to move about with still having a cozy vibe. Our two teenage boys loved that they had their own rooms and spent a good few hours playing chess on this cute little chess tables in one of the rooms. Just a quick drive into Idyllwild for a great dinner made this an ideal location.

Ian was a fast responder to all of our questions. The home is amazing, beautifully designed, and with so many small touches. Its a great value with so much space - a group of six would be unbelievably comfortable here. It's in an amazing area with so much greenery - so many Instagram/blog worthy pics can be taken here. We saw bunnies and the horses in the surrounding homes. The deck has outdoor seating and the wooden seating area facing the windows are so comfortable. The beds are comfortable and I don't know if it's mentioned but there's 2 full bathrooms and 2 separate toilets enclosed which is great with a group of six. There's a lot of windows in the downstairs area which do not have curtains or blinds which take getting use to at night when it's really dark. I'd recommend this place to families/friends wanting to get away from the city life or for peaceful getaway. I'd surely stay here again especially in the winter time if it snows. My best, Stephanie

This is my second time staying at this wonderful house, and our stay was very satisfactory. This place is very spacious and comfortable, with a huge open yard, quiet, with lots of shade, and private. The kitchen is very well equipped, and there is air conditioning for hot days. It's very close to Hemmet Lake and Idyllwild. We had no problems whatsoever. Don't put smelly kitchen trash outside at night because there is wildlife and they can make a mess
