Wow. If you want an incredibly beautiful, uniquely historic and artfully curated, spacious 7 bedroom Inn set on beautiful green acreage right in a peaceful village, this is the haven for your group. The Great Lawn Inn at the Historic Philip Cheney Mansion was exceptional, from start to finish. The host was responsive, communicative and easy to work with. Ryan made our stay so pleasant, and our group was well taken care of. We even ordered an in-house massage in the room, with a fresh breeze coming in off the lawn through the open windows, which was just divine. Our group came from New York CIty, and had lunch on the way before we arrived. We let the hosts know the configuration for the rooms, and were pleased with the number of bathrooms available, along with parking, and internet connection. The queen bedrooms are one of a kind, really dreamy. We ate out at Caveys in the village that night, which was perfect for our group too. There is enough of a selection of restaurants nearby to sample or order from to keep it interesting. Breakfast was served by our host, and he made a wide selection of drinks available to us, coffee machine on site. This was a really relaxing and enjoyable stay. One of our favorite experiences was to sit in each of the rooms throughout our stay. Tea in the Loggia, overlooking the lawn, surrounded by beautiful antiques; cocktails in the decadent wood paneled Library - so richly decorated; a champagne in the Grand Salon. It was magical and inspirational. We also enjoyed the walk around the grounds on site. Such a special stay, very memorable and one of a kind. The owners have done an amazing job to restore this beautiful place. It has to be seen to be believed. The photos don't do it justice.
