Located in the heart of Columbia Heights - one of DC's most vibrant neighborhoods - this condo is a modern redevelopment of a historic 1940s apartment building.

Great urban location! Located at the nexus of Columbia Heights, U Street/Shaw, and Petworth. Several restaurants and bars are one block away on the trendy 11th Street strip, two grocery stores are within walking distance and the Columbia Heights Green/Yellow metro line is a quarter-mile/3 blocks away! 2.5 miles from the National Mall!

The space
A full one-bedroom condo will be available for your use. Unit is a newly renovated and furnished bright and modern space in pristine condition with one full bathroom and access to washer/dryer, Wifi, TV and a brand new kitchen with stainless steel appliances and gas range.

Excellent access to transit - the location is also remarkably convenient from a transportation standpoint, just three blocks from the Columbia Heights metro station. A walker's paradise - the location has a Walkscore of 96! You can bus to downtown right outside my building or walk and metro to downtown DC in less than 20 minutes! Very bikeable - two Bikeshare stations are also nearby with numerous bike lanes and bike routes.

Columbia Heights is a bustling neighborhood with plenty to do within walking distance. Shops, nationally acclaimed restaurants, and bars are just around the corner. Perfect for exploring DC, with the metro a 7-minute walk from my door. U St. and 14th St./11th St. areas a short walk. Uber/Lyft access is plentiful! A live music fan? 9:30 Club, U Street Music Hall, Lincoln Theater and Howard Theater only a mile away!

Please note that the parking is on the street and not reserved. I am happy to provide a guest parking permit that allows you to park in the neighborhood without issue!

Guest access
Guests have full, uninterrupted access to the condo and can come and go as they please!

Other things to note
- Please note that I will only rent to Airbnb guests with previous reviews.

- Flat fee - no cleaning or additional fees included!

Location

Washington, District of Columbia, United States

Hispanic culture, a jumbo city park plus cool bars and restaurants draw locals and visitors to this upper northwest hot zone.

With its mix of grand and humble historic buildings (rowhouses, embassies along 16th Street NW), Columbia Heights reels in a mix of creatives, international professionals and, thanks to its leafy parks, bikers and picnickers. It’s one of DC’s most densely populated 'hoods, too, supporting a swath of homey restaurants and bars. Plus, a longtime Hispanic population means attractions like the GALA Hispanic Theater and the Mexican Cultural Institute lend the area a multiculti vibe.

The area’s main drags are 11th, 14th and 16th streets starting at U Street NW. Along 16th Street, you’ll find embassies and international organizations, most housed in impressive early 19th-century structures with architectural flourishes – turrets, stained glass, balconies. You can check out exhibits on south-of-the-border art and life at the Mexican Cultural Institute, housed in a grand mansion (and one-time Embassy of Mexico) with a mural of that country’s history painted on its interior stairway.

Nearby, Meridian Hill Park, a two-level, European style park with terrazzo walls holds fountains, statues and, every Sunday, a lively afternoon drum circle.

Restaurants and bars along buzzing 14th Street and mellower 11th Street fill up with young professionals and stroller-pushing families, particularly on weekends. Consider hot spots like Room 11 for cocktails, small plates and breakfast, Thip Khao for the only place in DC to try Laos’ spicy curries and rice dishes and Bad Saint for Filipino cuisine in a cozy, laid-back neighborhood setting.

The area, and neighboring ‘hood Mount Pleasant, are ideal for exploring by bike, especially since multiple Capital Bikeshare stations can be found in the vicinity. Just be warned; the area is hilly!
