We chose this location because it was close to where our daughter was living for a semester while attending Trinity College. It is about a 20-25 minute walk west of the college and about a 15 min. walk from the Trinity Pub area. The price and location would be appropriate for a budget traveller who doesn't need to be in the middle of the action and doesn't mind walking a bit. The taxi driver implied it is a questionable area but our daughter says it's not and that she feels very safe, as we ourselves did. The good: very clean and orderly. I'm somewhat of a neat freak about bathrooms and this was fine. Good building security. The waster pressure in the shower was fine. The neutral: We didn't use the kitchen but the faucet needs to be replaced, just worn out and no longer anchored properly. Also the hot water in the kitchen didn't work (nothing came out of the tap) but this may be because you have to turn hot water heater on (like you do to use the shower.) We visited in May when the weather was actually quite nice (sunny all day but not hot.) The heating is accomplished by a single radiator and there is no AC that I could detect. The heating is simply off or on. I get cold easily so had it on but then in the middle of the night it was too hot so I got up and turned it off. Just an FYI for those who are bugaboos about temperature like I am. Overall it was quite fine for the price.
