Stay in the centre of it all right where the highly-desirable district of Sunalta meets the Beltline - voted Calgary's top community two years running in this amazing home lovingly restored specifically as a full-time Airbnb. It's a literal minute out the front door to the boutiques, restaurants and pubs of 17th Ave SW. You're 900m to the Sunalta C-Train station to connect essentially anywhere in the city and - because you're in the core - Car2go, Uber, transit and taxis are plentiful.

The space

A ~1500 square foot, 3 bedroom, two storey Victorian home in a quiet neighbourhood lovingly restored as a full-time Airbnb including the fact that we've brought the original Douglas Fir floors back to life after over a century of use. The three bedrooms will sleep 7 comfortably on one king, one queen, one double and one twin bed. An 8th person can sleep comfortably on the luxurious, oversized couch in the front room and there is a heavy-duty, thick, double air mattress with linens and pillows in the master bedroom closet that can be deployed for two more guests - most suitably children, tweens or teens. Let us know in advance if you'd like us to set it up for you.

The rear yard is completely fenced and very private. Relax under the shade of mature trees and enjoy the new landscaping featuring Rundle stone, potted flowers and plants, a large, custom cedar picnic table and a unique rough-slab shale stone table with rustic wrought chairs. A new propane grill completes this charming outdoor space.

Guest access

You will have exclusive use of the entire home with the exception of the basement which is simply an unfinished space with utilities (there are no other residents or tenants in the property).

Interaction with guests

We are easily reached during normal waking hours by SMS, phone or email should you have general questions or concerns and we'll be happy to hear from you. We live ~20 minutes away from the property if needed for emergencies.

Other things to note

We are pleased to offer our guests coffee and a selection of teas. They are stocked near the coffee maker and kettle in the kitchen.

For guests staying one week or longer we offer a shopping service where we can stock your pantry / fridge with any basic groceries you may require. You pay only for the goods - there is no extra fee for this service (unless you request something out of the ordinary and we can discuss such one-off requests in advance).

The stay at Christine’s was everything we needed. The location is perfect for a stay in Calgary with access to good food and entertainment. The house fit our large group with ease and was comfortable when we were there. Christine provided incredible customer service. Highly recommend.

This is a beautiful home in a beautiful area. Christine was incredible to work with, and her property was immaculate. We were going to explore the food scene in Calgary and this was the perfect location to do it from - walkable to most great restaurants or a very short UBER away. Would highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Calgary :)

Beds like clouds! My husband wants to go buy a new bed after sleeping in the king bed... We loved the location; it was easy to get anywhere in Calgary from this location. We did tons of walking with 3 kids (1,3,9) and found a cool playground on 16th and 12th st SW. Ate at the Cluck n Cleaver (yum!), Ki sushi (delicious!!) and Cibo (good pizza and great price). Christine was incredibly accommodating and made our stay feel very personal. We will not hesitate to stay here again!

The place is beautiful, quiet, and spacious. The beds (and sofa) were comfortable and the rooms were nicely decorated. I was there in August and the top floor got a little hot, but there were fans in the closet to ward off the heat. There was only one shower to share amongst my group of 7, so we had to space out our showers. Christine stayed in touch with me the whole time and gave very detailed directions of how to check in and out. She left maps of nearby places on the kitchen counter which I found extremely useful. Overall, it was a great stay over the long weekend.

Jeff is a communications and stakeholder engagement executive with a passion for sports. We love good red wine (especially Barolo), travel and cooking.
