If you’re looking for a place to stay just a few nights, this airbnb will do. Communication is good, just as the check-in. Hot water in the shower is a bit fussy and there is quite some noise from outside, but for most that shouldn’t be a show-stopper.

Response from Scott:
Customer is right there was a huge noise outside on Tuesday night. The entire city went CRAZY because panama Beat Paraguay in a soccer match. This qualified Panama For the Mundial Soccer Championships. So the city went crazy, Horns honking, Fireworks, in truth I have never seen anything like this before in Panama. This went on until 3 AM. But is is a one time occurence unless they win the football championship coming up. This is the equivalent for the Football Super bowl in the USA.

My room was a bit small: OK for one person, less for two. Great location, excellent reception (Katerina), and very useful advices in "Scott's book" I found in the room. Reasonable pricing. Recommanded.

The good: I appreciated the apartment's close location to my business activities in the banking district of Panama City. I appreciated the safety of the neighborhood and the walking-distance proximity to many excellent restaurants, shops, rental cars, mass transit, nightlife, and groceries. The bed is very comfortable and the room is very clean. Scott's assistant, Kateryna, is absolutely wonderful; she takes the Airbnb experience from being a sterile business transaction to having the warmth of a caring, personable, and friendly human touch. The internet was fast and reliable when it was working. There is a very helpful and comprehensive guide in the room that can jump-start your Panama City experience. The bad: The space for the toilet was a bit tight. As a result, I usually sat perpendicular to the normal way of sitting on a toilet, which is uncomfortable. The shower water temperature fluctuated wildly. The internet went out for several days during my stay but Scotty and Kateryna worked very hard to get it back online, reducing the down time from what would have been over a week to just a few days. The bottom line: I would stay with Scotty again and would recommend his place in Panama City to anyone who needs a basic, clean, and functional room in support of pleasure or business activities in the area.

Scott provides a WEALTH of local knowledge, in the form of a local guide-book in the room. It is very apparent that Scott has spent a great deal of time and energy scrutinizing the local restaurants and attractions and provides accurate feedback to his guests. His place is basic, but comprehensive at the same time. Our room had a separate, private and secure bathroom across the hall. As described in the listing, it was compact, but well located for exploring the city. Scott said it best, "It's often cheaper to eat out than in, in Panama City". The studio has very basic cooking capabilities, and you could pull off a meal, but there are so many affordable, and wonderful restaurants in the area, we didn't feel the need to do so. I'm thrifty, and I still ate every meal in a restaurant. Do yourself a favour, and don't rent a car. Uber is cheap, and reliable in Panama City ($2-$4 average for a 15-20 minute drive). One tip: Use the "Roma Antica" restaurant as a pick up and drop off point for Uber. It's directly across the street, and Uber knows where it is. Tours: Scotty recommended a driver, "Chewey". Great guy, speaks English and is reasonably priced. We spent a day with him, and he drove us to the airport when we left. This studio is very small, but more than served it's purpose as an economical, clean and safe launch point for exploring Panama City. Scotty's local knowledge was very helpful as well.

I am from Vancouver British Colombia. I am a big time Skier and love to snow ski. But my true penchant is to travel. I love to educate myself and take in all the world has to offer. I love to make new friends and my objective is to have friends at all points on the planet. At the end of the day its not about how many things you have or how much money you have. Its all about how many friends you have and how they view you. I left Canada for the two best places on earth to live in my humble opinion: Panama and Cebu Philippines!
