A cosy 2 bedroom country cottage set in the heart of Cheshire with good transport links to Chester, Liverpool, Manchester & Birmingham. It's a great base for adventures in the local area; whether it's country walks, a wedding or visiting local events such as Carfest or Bolesworth Horse Show.
With its own private garden it's ideal for couples & families. The second bedroom can be set as either a double or two single beds. Bunbury is a beautiful village where ITV series Homefires was filmed.

The space

Our self contained cottage has been lovingly restored to make it into the perfect Cheshire getaway.

It has two bedrooms (bedroom 2 can be either a double bed or two singles), a spacious living room (with your own roaring fire), fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with a shower and bath. Guests can also enjoy their own garden space at the back of the cottage with a picnic bench.

We are on the edge of Bunbury, just a stone's throw from the village centre but also lucky enough to have stunning views over the fields out of the bedroom windows.

Guest access

In the kitchen we have a cooker, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, kettle and toaster. The lounge has an open fire and freeview TV. We provide bed linen, towels and basic toiletries.

With a young family ourselves we know what it's like travelling with children, we have a high chair and travel cot available.

Interaction with guests

We live in the main house next door and share a back entrance with the cottage, so you will see us around. We are here if you need us, but we like to give you your space.

Other things to note

We have lovingly restored the cottage so please respect it. There is no smoking in the cottage and pets are welcome but they must be well behaved.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lucy's cottage, a beautifully restored and decorated annexe to her family's home, which even comes with your own little bit of garden. It was spotlessly clean, full of thoughtful touches (milk and butter and some breakfast bits and pieces, toiletries in the bathroom), and supremely cosy (a fire ready to lay, very comfortable double bed). The photos are certainly representative of what you will find - in fact, your expectations are likely to be surpassed. Bunbury is a lovely village, with three pubs, of which The Dysart was our choice for its great menu, and you're in the heart of Cheshire with Chester just a quick hop by car.

This beautiful cottage was the ideal place to stay while attending a wedding at Peckforton Castle as it is only a short drive away. Lucy and Rob have literally thought of everything to make your stay as wonderful and homely as possible (breakfast items, toiletries, towels, slippers) and I can't recommend it enough.

The house was spacious and lovely, with a working fireplace as a bonus! Bathroom was equipped with everything we needed - towels and toiletries. Lucy even provided us with bedroom slippers which was a lovely touch. We didn't use the kitchen much but it looked fully equipped too. Easy to find and in a nice area, 40 mins drive to Chester. Lucy was very flexible with key collection even though we were late. We had a splendid stay and will definitely recommend.

Beautiful, clean and picturesque cottage, in a quiet village. Several good pubs including some great ales and even one specialising in gin, and a top notch coffee shop for breakfast, dinner or checking in with work (you'll likely have no phone signal anywhere in the village though there's wifi in the house). Lucy is a super helpful host and we'd happily stay again.
