Sunny and airy bedroom in our charming country home in Rhinebeck 1 mile from the Omega Institute. Shared bathroom. Queen size bed. Cable television. Sliding glass door walks out to a deck with a seating area overlooking our beautiful back lawn. You have use of our front picturesque deck overlooking our pond with water flowers, Koi fish, garden and labyrinth.
We have a beautiful home with large bedrooms and living spaces. The house is very secluded, hidden behind another property. Our living/kitchen/dining room is bright and airy with loft ceilings. Filled with plants- very much like a greenhouse. The living room has two sliding glass doors that open onto our amazing deck and koi pond. We have four acres of lawn surrounded by trees and bordering on "Little Wappinger's Creek". Take a stroll in the garden & labyrinth, relax in a hammock... Grab a cup of tea and stroll around. Your large bedroom is located privately in the corner of the house. We have free Wi-fi and have a Verizon extender for improved cell phone coverage.
Access is through our main front door. We ask you to remove your shoes in our home. Private key to your bedroom. Plenty of room for parking.
Interaction with guests
Since this is our home we are available pretty much 24/7. If we are out of the house you will have our cell numbers in case of emergency.
Other things to note
Please note we do have two dogs (Border Collies) who are the sweetest dogs ever. They are not allowed in your bedroom or bathroom. If you are a dog lover however, feel free to grab a frisbee and play with Molly (who will adore you forever). We have a small flock of guinea hens (six last count) that prowl around on the lawn searching for ticks to eat. We are happy to say we have seen a significant reduction in the number of ticks we find since the guinea hens arrived. They live in a hen coop at the end of the garage. Although they can get a bit yappy sometimes they are terrified of people and will never come near you. We never use chemicals on our lawn, pond, trees or plants. The guineas are one of our natural methods of a "pesticide".
We asks that guest respect our home, our things and our privacy. Most of what you see in the house are one of our "treasures" picked up and brought home from a special or sacred place* No smoking in house. Receptacles for smoking are located outside. * Quiet time after 10:00pm. * Please remove shoes in our home. * We recycle - please rinse out any bottles... before placing in garbage. * Do not light any fires in the fireplace or the fire pit.* No lighting or burning of candles or incense in the house. * Please stay out of our private spaces which includes the 3rd floor and anything marked private. No use of the kitchen or dining room. The living room is common space as well as the common spaces outside.
From May 12 - Oct 31, 2017 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
We are both travelers and know what it takes for a comfortable and relaxed stay. We have long used Air B&B for our own travels and now with all our children having flown the nest we have converted our home into a Air B&B with three bedrooms and a suite.
We love being hosts and have long used our home to entertain and celebrate with friends and family. Our loved ones who travel long distances know they always have a home away from home when they visit us. We are excited about now being able to share our home with other Air B&B customers!
We are animal lovers and have two sweet Border Collies (Molly & Oren) who love to meet new people. Please note that our pets are not allowed in the guest rooms as to be respectful of privacy and to minimize allergy issues. We also have a small flock of guinea hens (six) who live is a outdoor coop and prowl the lawn and woods for ticks to eat. The hens have significantly reduced the tick population on our land. The "Guinea Girls" may get yappy sometimes but they never will come near any humans!
We hope you will have a cup of tea (we are both tea aficionados and have a wide selection) and stroll out to our front deck. You can enjoy our beloved Koi pond right off the deck while sipping your tea. There is nothing like sitting and relaxing next to the pond and watching the Koi fish meander slowly through the water. It is mesmerizing!
We are located just a 1/2 mile from the Omega Institute which is perfect if you are attending a workshop there for a weekend or a week. Even if you are not taking a class there it is a beautiful place to visit and walk around the property and the lake.
The Hudson Valley is a amazing place to visit, the historic Catskill Mountains, the quaint villages of Rhinebeck, Woodstock, Hudson... the Hudson River in all her splendor.... There is so much to see and do in this remarkable place. We look forward to meeting you and getting the most out of you visit!
