Our house is a newly refurbished 16th century cottage in the quiet village of Laxfield, close to Southwold, Aldeburgh, Framlingham and the Suffolk Coast. The village has a great local shop and two fantastic pubs all within a short stroll.

It is a little haven of peace and quiet tucked away in the oldest part of the Village. It can sleep 4 people in 1 double bedroom and 1 twin room. There is also a cosy lounge with log burner.

The space

Archers Cottage is a newly refurbished 16th century cottage in the quiet village of Laxfield. We’ve spent the last 3 years replacing roofs, bathrooms and floors to make a little haven of peace and quiet tucked away in the oldest part of the Village. We have 2 bedrooms and can sleep 4 people in 1 Double bedroom and a twin room. The cottage has one upstairs bathroom with shower, a galley kitchen, large dining room and cosy lounge with log burner.

Interaction with guests

We live in the next village so are on hand if you need anything during your stay.

Other things to note

There is space for 2 cars at the Cottage.

We welcome well behaved dogs at the cottage, but not on the furniture. The small garden is semi enclosed so dogs would need to be accompanied.

Enjoyed a lovely stay at Archers cottage as a family of four. Well equipped and very clean. Lovely decor. Just as charming as the photos. Useful info about local attractions provided . Great base for day trips.

Archers Cottage is a gorgeous place! We had a lovely week cycling around the Suffolk countryside and curling up back at the cottage in the evenings. The cottage is full of beautiful touches and it is clear that it has been fitted up with much loving attention to detail. All of which we appreciated. Laxfield has good food, lovely pubs, its own museum and a beautiful church and everyone we met there was friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

The cottage is in an ideal spot for visiting many locations in Suffolk. David provided a very useful list of places to visit and recommendations for restaurants and pubs. The cottage has a lovely cosy feel to it. We made good use of the garden on sunny days. The village is very pretty and quiet and the locals are very friendly. It was our first holiday in Suffolk and we hope to return soon.

We loved our stay in this beautiful cottage. It's just gorgeous and very well equipped. Laxfield itself is lovely, and the King's Head pub over the road is amazing. Will be recommending to family and friends as a great place to stay in beautiful countryside, with lots of interesting places to visit nearby. Hope to be back one day!

Lovely little cottage in a pretty and historic Suffolk village. Very well furnished and has everything you need for a pleasant stay in this lovely part of the country. There are two great pubs within walking distance and a co op mini-supermarket. David was always contactable and extremely helpful. Recommended.

We had a brilliant stay in this well located, beautiful cottage. Everything was perfect, beautifully furnished and so clean! We enjoyed a meal (and beer) at the Low House and long walks by the coast. Next time I will return for longer. Thank you David
