This inviting space is located in the basement of my home and accommodates up to two people comfortably, with a queen size bed, microwave, mini-fridge, coffee pot, recliners, and a love seat. Light breakfast is available. The Civic Auditorium is a half block away; downtown and the Snake River Greenbelt, with miles of paved trails and a Japanese Friendship Garden, are easy walks from the house. The Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks are about a 1.5 to 2 hour drive away.
The basic bedroom area is actually part of a larger family room space with comfortable seating and a wood pellet stove. It offers a queen size bed, a dresser, and its own bathroom with shower. The seating area contains a love seat and two recliners. For the business traveler, a printer and laptop table are available. This room DOES NOT have a conventional door that can be locked. Instead, a bi-fold door provides privacy and keeps the resident cats out. NOTE: This room is located in the basement; two cats live at the house; and on occasion, a dog or two will be at the house since we also offer pet-sitting services.
Guests have full access to WIFI and the back yard. The backyard is fenced and partially shaded, with a wrap-around wooden deck. An outdoor gas grill and a fire table are available for guests to use.
Interaction with guests
I'm available to assist with any questions that you may have throughout your stay. I leave my guests alone but welcome questions and social interaction.
Other things to note
Stairs are something to consider, since the room is in the basement. We have two resident cats. We occasionally pet-sit one or two dogs. We keep the dogs that we are pet-sitting upstairs.
No non-registered overnight guests
No shoes in the house

I'm an agriculture researcher here in eastern Idaho, and relatively new to the area. Beautiful state and national parks and monuments are an easy drive away, and Idaho Falls seems to be an up-and-coming hub of eastern Idaho. As a host, I tend to be pretty 'hands off' yet open to interaction and socializing, if that's what you like, since I enjoy meeting new people and learning about them. Welcome to my home and I hope you enjoy your stay.
