It's been an absolute disappointment. Will start with the positive 1. The place was nice and clean 2. The bathrooms had ample water "yey"! 3. The host was prompt and called before the stay. Even offered to guide the cab driver when we reach. On the other hand 1. There is a person constantly living in the house. Hence it's not exactly "private". Sitting on the couch while watching tv or hanging around while eating. It left us feeling awkward and a little guilty. 2. The person staying doesn't do much. We did our own cleaning cooking and everything. We even lugged our own luggage up and down. If you ask him for any help he innocently mumbles a reason. Thus hes definitely not a help i am assuming he's there to keep a watch. He did help us bring a packet of bread and butter for breakfast and milk. For which we obviously paid only to find out we were supposed to pay 500rs. Nothing about us using half our own stuff. 3. The hot water facility is an immersion rod. Hence you lug water in buckets happily screwing your back. Let me not even cry out loud the safety hazards that come with it. Wish there could have been a water geyser. 4. Wifi is 1 GB per day. Seriously??? Shared by 4 of us adults and the "helper". Wow! How gracious. Even jio offers it free :D 5. The location of the place can only be discribed as banal. Every time any cab driver found it there was the 'eureka' expression. The only reason they found us was the extensive phone conversation with the helper (he did help after all). There are a lot of buildings around yet no eateries ergo pay a whooping 500rs for a cup of cornflakes. The bread butter and milk was ours. That is some exotic breakfast! Neither are there any eateries nor any bazaars nor shops nor anything touristy. There are many other minute issues that I can harp and crib about. But all in all it was a rather unpleasant experience because of the 'lack of experience'. If I come out wishing I had booked a hotel as against a bnb then the experience is lost. At the end of the stay I felt hostile with the number of rules and instructions and behaviour of the help. The bnb has the potential to get so much more if only it could give people the warmth since the infrastructure isn't important. After a 12 day airbnb stay at other destinations where we came out making great friends and happy hugging departures with tons of pictures and promises to meet soon. A one night last day experience was distressing.

Response from Ankan:
Thanks for the review Ishwari. Many would have rated the property well for the first points that you had put - nice and clean place, no problem with water, a good host who helped you to reach the place safe and sound. Instead you gave 1 star for a caretaker being present 24 hrs in the property.? Every other guest actually liked the fact that there is a caretaker present to check the water, electricity, or any other problem a guest may face while staying at the guesthouse. You want AC, free breakfast, geyser, free WiFi, TV, King size bed, Clean and well decorated place, At a quiet neighborhood, access to kitchen, the living room, the dining area, terrace with city and mountain view, birds chirping in the morning, getting the sunrays first in the bedroom, freedom to use every amenity of the house - all for just Rs 900 per room? Can you name any property (hotel or guesthouse) anywhere in India who provides all of these for Rs 900? We have almost given everything to guests except Geyser and AC because we want to keep the price of our property low. We want to attract travellers mainly and tourists who are looking for serenity for a night or 2 before heading towards other locations in the North East. If we install every amenity, we have to increase the price and that'll discourage these kind of people visiting us. You should've checked into a hotel instead. Regarding HOT WATER, the immersion rod is used extensively in North East India and we clearly mentioned in our profile that the caretaker will heat up the buckets and will place those in the bathrooms whenever a guest needs a hot shower. The guests don't need to play with Safety Hazards. That's why the caretaker stays in the property - 24 hrs. Probably you didn't get time to read all the instructions on Airbnb due to your busy schedule. Rs 500 for a cup of cornflakes? You were 5 people, had been having unlimited cups of milk tea for 2 days, unlimited bread and eggs, cornflakes, butter and jam - for Rs 500. Yes, you did pay the caretaker for a bread and some milk Rs 100 earlier, but when he wanted to give you back the money you ignored him. Now, we are willing to pay you back Rs 100, if you share your bank details. Lastly, you have paid a total of Rs 2300 for - stay for 5 (FIVE) PEOPLE, 2 bedrooms with king size beds, wardrobe, multiple power points, big chairs, table with table lamps, balcony, big bathroom with all the toiletries including toothpaste, soap, shower gel, shampoo, unlimited water, unlimited tea, unlimited breakfast, a clean and well decorated sunny house, uninterrupted power supply, free WiFi, free access to terrace, kitchen and living room with TV, a caretaker who's willing to help you in every way, a 24 hrs security guard, mountain and city view, a quiet neighborhood, near the city center, restaurants within 500 mts, access to public vehicles, a good and friendly host - anything else we have missed? All the best for your future endeavors.
