Sometimes wet in winter; warm and sunny in summer, our mother city offers night life, clubbing, theatre & restaurants.
The sun-drenched Muizenberg mountains will de-stress and invigorate. Hike through our Zandvlei Nature Reserve and sight a lifer.
Paddle beyond the breakers off our famous Surfer's Corner (offshore winter winds offer the best surfing conditions).
Our back-garden flat will offer you a peaceful, quiet night of dreamland to inspire you to do it all again the next day.
Taringa, the name of our home, abounds with indigenous fauna in the front and back garden.
This attracts all sorts of bird life, from little rooi-bekkies (red beaked finches) to Ha-de-dahs (glossy Ibis).
We have a Cape Robin which nests regularly and an olive thrush who pulls out our beloved earth worms.
All this may be viewed while having your morning coffee.
That's of course, if you sit very quietly.
And, after a fun night out on the town, it's a great time to sit quietly.
Enter through a green teak gate, then pass through another wooden gate on the north side of our house down a path (lit automatically by a safety light at night). This path is sheltered by creepers and trees to enter a tree'd back garden and the garden flat you'll be enjoying.
Each day you may wander down to our white sandy beaches, rent a surf board and paddle out to catch a wave. With a winter off-shore north-wester, the best surf is from May to September in Muizenberg.
Why not venture up one of our grand majestic mountains for the best views in the world. Peace and quiet too, away from the madden crowd.
You may just pop into our village and meet some locals over cup of tea and muffin.
Interaction with guests
If you wish I could show you a few sights, that's of course, if I'm 'resting'.
It's a term we actors use when we're not on stage or in front of a camera.
It's also a reason why I can assure access 24/7 for Business Travellers.
Other things to note
Cycling is another pasttime.
Ask me about renting bicycles and my neighbour who conducts tours of various places of interest like Cape Point, Hout Bay, Constantia Nek, even Masiphumelele & Khayalitsha.
I can also point you in the direction of battery assisted cycle rentals where uphill peddalling is a synch. Mountain climbing is also great fun, and, our mountains have caves one called Boomslang runs right through one mountain. As a teenager I used to explore these caves with candles, torches and friends. Mother always had more laundry to do after these adventures.
Surfing, of course, is all year round especially in winter when the offshore wind is blowing, creating perfect surfing conditions. Some excellent surfing schools on our beach front too.
It's turning out to be a late winter for 2017 so the surf is still good even in October
I am a raconteur and an actor.
I share my life with my partner, two children and two dogs.
The book I've just read is Laura Hilderbrand's Unbroken which I have past on to my eighteen year old son. He gave me Richard Dawkins' The God Delusion to read before that. Both books were thought-provoking; one questioning our belief system, the other highlighting the futility of war.
Just started reading Barbara Kingsolver's The Poisonwood Bible.
Another book which I together with my theatre director, Celia Musikanth, have adapted for the stage and is currently on at the Alexander Upstairs Theatre in Cape Town is Love Sex Fleas God, Confessions of a Stay-at-Home Dad.

Amidst all the above fun in my life is a collection of Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes lies on a small table in the smallest room (toilet) in our home. Great reading, laughing take on how we live.
So you see live theatre and classical music are pasttimes I enjoy although I sometimes prefer being on stage doing the entertaining.
Mangoes and pawpaws are not my favourite fruits. Bananas, pears and plums are.
I'll tell you more after I've hosted a few guests. Always ready to host with a smile. The three sets of guests already under our wing were a delight and a pleasure. It's been very exciting and excellent fun having them.
Theatre is the best tool for story-telling and once the story has made you laugh and cry it will etch a place in your heart forever.
