The house has 4 bedrooms one of which has an adjoining bedroom so there's plenty of room. All rooms were very clean, the Kitchen is well equipped with all modern appliances. The house also has a nice garden and private parking area outside. Macken is a quiet village just a few miles from the Mosel river and provided a perfect base to plan our trips all by car.

Very well equipped and typical historical house in a quiet village. Ideal to visit the Moselle - Rhein region.

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely home near the Mosel & Rhine areas. We visited Burg Eltz, Geierlay Bridge, St. Goar, Bingen, Trier, Traben-Trarbach and Cochem. We were conveniently near all these locations with several supermarkets within a 15 minute drive. We were pleasantly surprised that the home is much nicer (and much larger!) than the pictures online. There's four bedrooms and three bathrooms, large dining area, family room and washer/dryer inside the property which came in handy traveling with kids. We parked right next to the house inside the gate. The kitchen was fully equipped with all essentials (and then some!). Florian responded quickly to all our questions and was a great host. This was not just a place to stop for the night, but a true German countryside experience, staying in a small town in the Mosel/Rhine river valleys. We would definitely return and will recommend to all family and friends. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!

We had a very pleasant stay at Florian's house! The house is authentic but is also very comfortable with a.o. the well equipped kitchen. We very much enjoyed the garden with the ping pong table and the swings. The surroundings are beautiful.

Our family of 4 spent two nights in Macken in between the larger cities of Frankfurt and Cologne. The location is convenient for day trips along the Moselle River. We had a rental car, so we visited castles, wineries, and postcard worthy small towns. Trying to stay here without a car would be complicated. Exploring the house was fun since it is obviously a historic structure and had lots of character - imagine timber framing, carved staircases, low ceilings, and shuttered windows. We tried to guess how the house might have looked 200 years ago and how it may have been used. For our family, the extent to which we used the house was simply sleeping and showering. The village of just a few hundred people is very quiet...like REALLY quiet - with the exception of the steadfast hourly chiming of the church bells next door. We found that the house was clean and easy to access when we arrived. There was plenty of space in the interior for us to spread out our stuff and reorganize all of our bags, as well as a well sized parking place. We did not get to meet the host, but the instructions were detailed and very clear. We didn’t use the kitchen, but it seemed capable enough to prepare small, simple meals. There was no food in the house, so if you were to plan on cooking, you would want to budget in a trip to the grocery store prior to arrival. Also, we didn’t use the interior sauna, but that seemed like a nice feature. Honestly, the most useful amenity for our family was the washing machine/dryer combo machine. We never were able to locate the wireless internet...I didn’t contact the host to report this because, again, our time in the house was limited to mostly sleeping...but it was advertised as having wireless internet; so if that’s something that’s important to you, perhaps it is wise to verify accessibility ahead of time. All in all, the Macken house was an interesting experience that served it’s purpose well enough for us. In our experience, two nights was more than enough time. I believe this location is best suited for families seeking a quiet “get away from it all” respite from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The house in Macken is magical - cozy old wooden house with everything that a family needs. The breath taking view of the village and location near Rhine and Moselle is very convenient for hiking, nature or castle trips. Our family had a great week there and we recommend this house to everyone who want's to experience beautiful Germany.

Wonderful stay in a wonderful place! The house was perfect, very clean and fully furnished. In the kitchen there are all you need. The house is very charming and ideal for a break between family or friends. Very well situated you can reach the most important villages by car in 15-30 minutes. If we decide to return in this place certainly we will choose the Florian's house.
