Where you’ll be

Tillamook, Oregon, United States

Porcupine cottage sits close to the Trask River Road and has no neighbors on 2 sides. The property is surrounded by mountians and forest. and the river runs through the back of the property. Tillamook County Public Camping Park is on the east side but far enough away to not disturb you. On the west side there is a vacation cabin used a couple weeks in the summer, and a permanent residence next to that. Large herds of Elk visit our meadow many mornings as well as deer, so take your coffee outside and enjoy the wildlife. You might get to see the pair of Bald Eagles that fly up river each morning and down river each evening. We have a friendly male Newfoundland and we keep him with us when we are working outside but have no problem putting him inside while you are using the outside areas if a guest requests this.

Hi, my name is Julia and my husband is Jack. I am an artist and outdoors woman. We are both easy going and part of a huge family that varies so much that I think of us as our own United Nation. We love the outdoors and spent 10 years building and living in a remote off grid beautiful reclaimed timber cabin up in the high desert mountains before moving back to Tillamook five years ago. We love hiking, camping and reading great books. We have alot of grandchildren who we adore spending time with. I love to spend evenings reading a good book, and I’ve stocked the cottage with books for young and old to enjoy. We love using Airbnb for our trips and haven't used a hotel/motel since we started staying at Airbnb hosted homes 6 years ago. As an airbnb host, I want my guests to really enjoy staying in our cottage and just relax and unwind. We live on the property next to the cottage so we are close if guests have questions or want to visit with us, but we also give our guests all the privacy they want. We also love animals and have a young Newfoundland named Seamas and 10 laying hens.

During your stay

I am available most days, just send me a text and I’ll respond ASAP. For those times when I may be away from the property just text me. There is a cottage notebook with information on restaurants, operation instructions for appliances and wood stove (also in the Airbnb Manual for the cottage) and any additional info guest might need such as things to do are all in the "Porcupine Cottage Notebook”. Guest Manuel on my listing is available to booked guests and full of operational help from wood stove to kitchen and how to operate washer/dryer so check it out.
