It is a great appartement and the surround area is beautiful. The streets are small but to do with the car. We recommend it!

This apartment is FANTASTIC! Exactly as the photos indicate, it's a beautiful medieval building that's been tastefully updated to retain its historic charm while providing all modern necessities. A real standout feature for us was the bedroom, which has to be seen to be believed - it is vast! But the whole apartment is stunning - high ceilings, thick stone walls so it's really cool even in the heat of the day and with spectacular views from all angles. It's also worth noting that the kitchen was really well equipped - there was even a stove top coffee pot and ground coffee provided, along with other staples like pasta, salt, oil etc. Emanuele was great - we didn't get to meet him, but he was easy to get in contact with and responded to all our messages really quickly. He even arranged for his friend to collect us from Prato station on arrival, which we really appreciated. In terms of transport, we didn't have a car for the first few days, but found it really easy to get in to Florence from Calzano station, which is at the bottom of the hill in the main town. Be warned, the climb back up is pretty steep, though! We bailed out after a few days and hired a car, but I wouldn't say that's essential. And one last thing...there is an absolutely outstanding restaurant two minutes walk from the apartment, in the heart of the old village. It's called La Terrazza and is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday-Saturday. We were in food heaven! I couldn't recommend it highly enough. All in all, a brilliant apartment in a brilliant location, with a brilliant host! Thank you, Emanuele!

Very nice place for a relaxed journey around the Tuscan country side. House is as described, very spacious (except the shower), many thoughtful considerations (mosquito repellent, socket adapters, scissors, espresso kettle... and many more). August is not the perfect month to visit, if you are depending on eating out, since many restaurants and shops are closed during that month. However, if you are willing to prepare your own food, the kitchen is very well equipped, and grocery stores are close by (carrefour is open for 24 hours). Definitely, would come again for a longer stay.

This beautiful home and the warm welcome from Francesco and Emanuele are the reason that we will try to avoid staying in a hotel ever again! We arrived very late but were very warmly greeted by our hosts. They led us to their property which was only a few metres from where we parked our car and I can only say that the pictures do not say enough about how special this property is.. We felt like we had stepped back in time, high wooden ceilings, beautiful period furnishings with fresco,s on the walls it really is a special place to stay. Knowing we had a long day travelling they had left us some water, milk and juice which was greatly appreciated. The fabulous view from the bedroom window in the morning is something truly beautiful. Emanuele and Francesco were excellent hosts providing us with information during our stay and nothing was a problem for them. Their home has everything you need, washing machine, iron and all your home comforts. Our stay was exceptional and I would recommend without hesitation that you must, if you have the opportunity stay in this unique home with wonderful and welcoming hosts. Ghislaine and Jason

We stayed in this beautiful medieval apartment for 5 nights. Francesco is most warm, friendly and accommodating host. He greeted us very friendly, introduced his stunning apartment and offered lots of great tips and recommendations for places to eat and sights to visit. From the very first moment we felt here very relaxed and home away from home. This apartment is very magical and charming in terms of interior, it's spotless clean, tastefully furnished, comfy and equipped with everything you need even for longer stay! It was exactly as described or even more beautiful!!! Our host is the most wonderful, it was a delight to meet him and stay in he's amazing place. Experiences like this make our voyages so unique and unforgettable. We highly recommend this place to everyone who plan to visit Firenze or surroundings. Thank you Francesco and hopefully see you again!

The appartment is located in a very beautiful, medieval citadel, on top of the hill. The sighseeing is great, the square and surrounding buildings are just wonderful. The appartment was cozy, and it felt like home, with a small garden, perfect for enjoying a glass of Tuscan wine. And the location, close to Florence but still away from the noisy city, offered the best excuse to rent a car and travel allover Tuscany. All in all, great appartment, great host, wonderful holiday!

Perfect special location near Florence. For me more than perfect as I had to work in Calenzano and the Appt. was just 5 minutes away. Great view from all rooms and nice small garden. Great experience.
