Beautiful log home on a small acreage. Adjacent to the city park and just one mile to the town square. Enjoy the full lower level of the home during your stay. There is not a refrigerator on the lower level but you're welcome to use the one on the main floor as needed. The fire pit is also at your disposal, I just ask that it is used responsibly :) A gate in the backyard leads to the Cutler Donahue covered bridge (in the park).

Interaction with guests

I'm available via text or calls on my phone, anytime. If I'm home and you want to socialize, I'm game, but it's certainly not required.

Courtney's home is in a cul de sac that is essentially right in town but at the edge of Winterset so it is a quick drive to the Town Square but as soon as you enter her property you seem to hundreds of miles away. The home is just really lovely -- a log home with an interior that is right out of Country House Beautiful. She is a warm & welcoming presence but the space provided for guests is not only very, very large but very cozy and clean. What fun to lounge around in that log cabin home and sleep in that log bed! The bathroom was large, clean and well-stocked with the basic guest needs. Coffee was available in the morning and was very good. Courtney has a very tall dog, Sammy who was energetic and sweet but was also quite happy to be put outside if we needed some down time. Generally and outstanding AirBnB experience. Great value as well.

Courtney's home is beautiful, backs right up to a wonderfully woodsy city park, and is close enough to the town square for a lovely, tree-lined walk. The space is abundant, as the pictures show. Though we were out exploring a lot, the time we did spend in the space was so comfortable and at ease. Courtney took great care to stay connected throughout. We'd highly recommend Courtney's place.

Courtney is gracious and warm, her home is beautiful and spotless, and there is just no down side to staying with her. She made us feel completely at home and at ease. I also can’t be the first to omit a nod to Sammy - the sweetest doggie host ever!

Courtney's place offers great value. Lots of space, privacy on a lower level, very quiet, cute pets, nice rural view. Perfect for a pair of retirees enjoying a small town, including the Iowa Quilt Museum and the bridges of Madison County. Next time, we'll visit the John Wayne Museum!

I took a drive to visit the covered bridges and hike a bit. Courtney was amazing! She was very kind and friendly. The space was absolutely beautiful. And Sammy the dog was always happy to greet you at the door. It was a great trip and I would definitely stay here again.

Courtney took good care of us and we loved being in this beautiful log home perched on a hill with a great view including a lovely sunset. Sammy (her dog) was an added pleasure!
