This great little studio apartment is perfect for a couple that wants to be right in the center of town, close to everything, but tucked away into a quiet little courtyard, far from the noise of the city. You can't beat the location at this price!
Please email me with any questions or comments *before* making an official reservation request so that we can make sure the apartment is the best fit for you! This apartment does sleep up to 4 persons but I prefer to discuss the sleeping options with guests before booking so we can make sure it will work with your group.
If you would like to book for less than the minimum number of nights (3), please contact me here on AirBNB and we'll see what we can work out!
Mignon is a cozy studio apartment in the dead center of Lucca (inside the walls, near the intersection of via Fillungo and via Santa Croce). It is therefore within 5 minutes walk of the entire town center and Lucca's fabulous walls. It doesn't get more central than this!
Best of all, the apartment is tucked away in a quiet little courtyard off one of the main streets, so you're close to everything but protected from city noise.
Mignon offers a loft-style layout with a double bed on the loft level and a living area downstairs. It sleeps two people comfortably, but can accommodate a third guest (or possibly two small children) if needed on the futon. The bed is new with 100% cotton / high thread-count sheets and your choice of down or synthetic pillows. The futon opens up to double-bed size but does take up a lot of the living area when open.
**If you are booking for 2 people but will need both the regular bed and the futon prepared (i.e. 2 beds), then please book for 3 people.
Please note that the bedroom is accessed by a narrow stair and has a low ceiling. As noted in our reviews, it isn't a problem for the majority of our guests but we like to make sure you're aware of it!
The new kitchenette features a small refrigerator, mini-dishwasher, electric cooktop, coffeemaker, a microwave, and clothes washer. The bathroom is finished in beautiful red marble and offers a standing shower, bidet, toilet, and sink. From the bedroom and living area you will have a lovely view of the building courtyard (not accessible to guests).
The apartment is small but highly functional. The location in the palazzo is very tranquil.
Other features include: WiFi, heating, A/C, and elevator access.
From this apartment all of Lucca is at your doorstep. Dozens of restaurants, the shops of via Fillungo, the churches and cathedral, the Piazza Anfiteatro, and the famed walls of Lucca are all less than five minutes walk from the apartment.
The apartment is independent (not shared with any other units in the building). It has independent heating & A/C, its own washing machine, and access to the elevator shared by the other residents of the building.
Interaction with guests
As much or as little as you like!
If I am not around, someone will be, so don't worry - you will *always* be taken care of.
Other things to note
The apartment is small, but great because of its location. The kitchenette is perfect for preparing simple meals, but nothing too elaborate (there is no oven).

I love helping other people have a great trip.
Italy has been so fundamental to who I've become, and I want to make sure everyone else experiences the magic while they're here. I'm always glad to help in any way that I can, be it making a dinner reservation, helping with trains or taxis or buses, or just answering questions about your trip. I'll give you all the space you want, but don't be afraid to ask me anything! I have a pretty thorough knowledge of Tuscany, Liguria, Umbria, and Lazio, and a smattering of other parts of Italy as well, so fire away. :)
