About this listing

Beautiful home in Rittenhouse Square! This spacious home is three floors with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The house is cozy, but large enough where visitors are not on top of each other. Walking out of the front door, you're just minutes away from everything, the Philadelphia Theatre Company, the TLA, OCF Coffeehouse, Plays and Players Theatre. There is never a shortage of sights to see or brunches to attend in Rittenhouse.

The space

This place is a large townhouse home-- 1,980 sq ft! It is just minutes away from everything Philadelphia has to offer.

Guest access

Guests are welcome to use the entire home.

Interaction with guests

Guests are given their privacy, but I am available for any questions, recommendations, or concerns.

Other things to note

If you need to use the pack and play, please request at least one week before you check in.

There are AC units in the bedrooms. The living room/kitchen has a fan, and usually stays cool with it running.

The house is a registered historic building causing the water pressure in the showers to be low. I have hired plumbers and nothing can be done to boost water pressure. It does the job, and the water is hot!

Jen is very helpful. She communicates very well, is extremely pleasant and shows care. Her instructions were very thorough and easily to follow. The home is in a prime location and very walkable and accessible to public transportation. Getting in and out of the home was very easy. The challenges were: 1. There is no central air so the home is unbearably hot, especially with the extreme summer temperatures. 2. The plumbing is horrible. There is not enough water pressure to take showers, so with the heat and lack of water, staying clean was a challenge. This was frustrating as it was about 100 degrees in philly.

Response from Jen:
Thanks for the feedback! The summer heatwaves hit Philly super hard some days. That I can't control. Most AC units I've tried in that space can only cool the air 20-25 degrees cooler when only run when you arrive at the house. Thankfully summer is almost over!! The water pressure is something we struggle with. The house is a registered historic home and boosting the water pressure input is a difficult process that requires getting a larger line put in from the street.

The house is in a great location and neighborhood. It is very pretty and minimal with decorations. The air conditioner downstairs only ran on fan, making the house extremely hot during the day and while cooking. The air was never fixed. The basement flooded with sewage (which was cleaned up by handymen). But the sewage made the whole house smell horrible and the standing water caused mosquitos to come into the house. The second floor bathroom shower had terrible water pressure; more water come out of the faucet than the shower head while running. The third floor toilet seat is cracked, causing pinching. There is no microwave or dishwasher (should have looked in the pictures better), which made making food for a toddler a little hard. Also, there were random nails sticking up out of the stairs, which wouldn't be safe for kids.

Jen's house is clean, spacious and great! It is a 3 floor home, the first includes a living room, dining table / area and kitchen, as shown in the photos. The 2nd room contains a spacious room and bathroom. The 3rd floor an even more spacious room and closet and a bathroom. It made for a PERFECT stay for us. Thank you so much Jen!

A few friends and I stayed here for a college reunion and enjoyed how close this house was to restaurants, bars, and shopping. The house was perfectly clean when we arrived. Jen's decor was so cute and made the entire home very cozy! The house is on a fairly busy street and was a little noisy at night. I would definitely stay here again!!
