Villa Sa Rota is a fantastic property in Maria de la Salut, with a capacity for 4 people.
It is located in a very quiet and relaxing area of Maria de la Salut.

The space

This beautiful house has a private saltpool,with a size of 8m x 4m and a depth ranging between 1.3m and 1.8m, where you can relax on one of the 6 sunbeds surrounding the pool. A furnished porch overlooking the pool, invites you to celebrate evenings with your family. The house is independent and has partial privacy.

The house has two floors and a size of 110m2. It has two bedrooms on the first floor, one with a double bed and one with twin beds. The two bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning. Each bedroom has a furnished terrace. For our younger guests we can prepare a babybed and a highchair. This beautiful house has two bathrooms,one bathroom with a shower located on the ground floor and another bathroom with bath on the top floor. You have 3 fans at your disposal.


In the spacious open vitro ceramic kitchen which is directly connected with the dining room, you will have all the necessary utensils to cook for your family. Aswell you have a washing machine, iron and ironing board.
In the cozy lounge, you can watch satellite TV or relax on the couch.

The area of Maria de la Salut, is situated in the center of the island, so it is very easy to get anywhere in a reasonable time. The area is mainly rural and mostly inhabited by people of the island, so you will not find much tourism and you can discover the real Mallorca. Yet you will find everything you need in Maria de la Salut: supermarket, pharmacy, bank, sports area, bars and some restaurants.

In just 15 minutes drive you reach Ses Casetes dels Capellans and Can Picafort. You can have a nice day on the sandy beach or enjoy a cocktail watching the sunset. In this area, there are some good restaurants to eat paella, with a very beautiful and impressive seaview. The promenade of Ca'n Picafort is a lively area that contrasts with the Playa de Muro, which is more quiet. Nearby are also the areas of the Port of Alcudia and Pollenca.

Note: This property’s rent is carried out based on the Spanish legislation, specifically Law 29/1994 of 24 November on urban leases. For this reason, the property will be available for seasonal use. In this contract the lessee will not be offered any kind of tourist services. This contract only consists of the cession of the use and enjoyment of the property.

This is not so much a review about Xisca who, to be fair, always responded quickly to any queries we had with a friendly and helpful manner. Xisca acts as agent on a number of properties in Maria de la Salut in Majorca which was the small town in which we stayed. Our issue really was with the owner of the property we had booked, which was a villa on the edge of the town called Sa Rota. Just 4 days before we were due to check in to Sa Rota, Xisca informed us we would have to pay the owner a 300 euros deposit in cash upon arrival (refundable) and at the end of the stay pay an electricity bill which would be 40 or 50 euros. This was for a 4 night stay. We were already paying a large rental and hefty service charge which added up to almost twice as much as we had to pay for the equivalent type of property for the two previous stays we had using Airbnb in Majorca. There was no mention of such extras in the description and besides this was against the terms of service of Airbnb. But explaining this to Xisca was futile who said it was the “rule of the house” and the owner insisted upon it. However after 3 hours of messaging and finally bringing in airbnb to explain their rules to Xisca (all this when I should have been working!) it was finally agreed we would go ahead with our stay without having to pay these extras in cash and if any excess costs were incurred to the owner due to our unreasonable actions during our stay these would be requested via airbnb’s resolution centre. However on the morning when it was time for us to finally check out of the villa, who should show up in her shiny black Jaguar but the owner, a small and smartly dressed Spanish lady who spoke not a word of English. Armed with (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) translate and a smart phone she made it clear that we were not to leave until we had paid our electricity bill in cash directly to her. There was also a bill for the key to the front gate, the tip of which unfortunately appeared to have snapped off in the lock. We hadn’t even noticed the damaged key until we arrived back at the property one evening and although unfortunate it really wasn’t anyone’s fault. But the owner wanted to charge us 40 euros in cash. We were not able to resolve the matter amicably and despite phoning Airbnb’s helpline they were not able to offer a Spanish speaking person to explain their terms of service to the owner and just restated to us the rules we already knew. So we just had to drive off in the end otherwise we would have missed our plane. So once again this is not necessarily a criticism of Xisca, who I am sure if we had...
