Easy access to the subway, grocery stores, and other shops. Probably bring your tablet or laptop to watch movies (didnt know the channels so it was easier to use what I know.) Laundromats are easy access if you need to do your laundry during your stay. Very nice family and they have no problem helping you find the area you're looking for to go do some activities.

Jospeh was great. He was great in responding and the pictures are as advertised. The apartment was clean when I arrived and the kitchen was stocked as well. The neighborhood is good and close to the subway. I will definitely stay here again.

This is a good space for some (probably younger folks not needing accessibility) looking for a little adventure in New York without paying Manhattan prices, but it's not right for everyone (such as probably older or people with disabilities.) This is in a fairly busy part of Brooklyn and the appliances at this space, like the space itself, are nice and modern like the sleek in-room air conditioners akin to the whole decor, however, this space is NOT right for some people. My family had a very, very hard time without a railing on the fairly steep stairs over the shops below. This is a Brooklyn experience- to be over a store and under train tracks (and the train is surprisingly almost silent inside the apartment, even while it roars outside) but the stairs, with no railing, were difficult for all of us- my wife and I, in our 30s (without any manifest physical disabilities), generally, did fine but would slow down a little at the top and bottom. My father, in his 70s, was a little more careful, but, again, was alright, given his ability to still hike with us. My mother, however, just a little slower than most and with bad knees and feet so she can't walk much, had a VERY hard time with the stairs. I'm not sure if it's legal in New York to have stairs without a railing but it seemed both uninviting at best and dangerous at worst. It was uncomfortable for some of us and terrifying for others. Other missing amenities in the space included towel bars, the back leg of the low couch in the kitchen (which many people, including my mother, couldn't sit in anyway), furniture other than stools, a baking sheet, drawer stoppers and an ideally functioning bathroom drain. For a few days, these things add up but Utrecht Avenue in Brooklyn is a nice location; the train, grocery and liquor stores are just a block or less away and Joseph and his family are friendly and efficient, off-site hosts, so this is a great, stop-over space for some, but definitely not right for all.

- I advise to coordinate arrival time at least a day in advance -The place is beautiful, the host did a great job renovating -There is a subway adjacent to the apartment which could be troublesome for light sleepers -There is a bar below the apartment that could also be troublesome for guests. -Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

Response from Joseph:
Check in time is set to 6PM. It is listed on our listing and we are very accommodating to guests. We've communicated days prior and the day prior to check in to reestablish and reconfirm check in time. We're not sure how check in could've been clearer. However, guest was no where near the 6PM time frame window and actually arrived at 7:30PM after we've contacted them to make sure they weren't lost. If they wanted to come here later, that would be fine, but it would be good etiquette to inform the other party this information rather then make them wait close to two hours for them.

Joseph's place was awesome . The apartment is extremely close to both bus and subway transit services .There were a number of small restaurants near by when we couldn't get into the City . Overall , I would definitely recommend Joseph's apartment .

The host is super nice person, waiting us to check at late night, and answering the phone or massages very quickly! Only issue is the location is too close to subway, the noise is loud during the night! But it's really convenient! Anyway; I will definitely recommend to my friends if they would like to stay in NYC for few days vacation.
