The Walkabout House has everything you need during your stay. Centrally located, with easy access to freeways, an abundance of San Diego attractions are just minutes away whether you are walking, biking, or driving.
Of course, there's no need to leave the house to have a great stay. The house is in a quiet neighborhood with the furnishings that allow you to relax and refresh. Our two main bedrooms have super comfortable Casper, queen-sized mattresses for a good night's rest.
There are several cafes, restaurants, bars and retailers just down the street.
We have a parking space off-street for one of our guest’s cars.
Other things to note
We're located about 1 block from Adams Ave, and just a few blocks from 30th St.
A ton of restaurants, bars, breweries, coffee houses, etc. near-by.
And you can be at the beach in 10 minutes with quick freeway access...or a 45min bike ride.
We recommend having coffee from Dark Horse just four blocks from the Walkabout House, then you can cruise the other direction on Adams Ave to grab a freshly baked slice of sourdough bread with Avocado at Black Market Bakery (they serve Dark Horse too, but the walk can be fun).
For lunch try Blind Lady Ale House down Adams Ave, East of us, or Cantina Mayauel, just West of us. You could get caught up at Cantina with their impressive selection of Mexcals and Tequilas, and their tasting tacos.
If you’re in the cocktail mood, Polite Provisions is across from Cantina Mayauel and enjoy dinner at Jayne’s Gastropub.
All of the places listed here are within 6 blocks from the Walkabout House. And!, there’s so many more places we haven’t listed.
If you’re taking your trip here with small children, they may enjoy playing at Trolley Barn Park about a mile West from us, or you could drive about 3.5 miles to visit the jewel of San Diego— Balboa Park. This tree-filled Park has an array of museums to entertain all ages. You can stop for lunch or dinner at Panama 66 and maybe catch a jazz show, if you’re there in the evening. This all-outdoor venue was voted the best place to see jazz in San Diego and the best outdoor dining in the city.
There is so much to see and do, and the Walkabout House is in the middle of it all.
