The studio apartment in Porto was in a great location for getting back and forth from the airport as it was a few minutes walk to the nearest large metro station. Renato was flexible in the timing of meeting us at the apartment as we stored our luggage in the lockers at the metro station in the morning and then toured Porto before checking in to the Airbnb around dinner time. He gave us recommendations for restaurants and pointed us to the local grocery store. There is a kitchen available and a washer dryer. The shower is in tight quarters but other than that it was a great stay in Porto!
Apartment is small but in a great location-- fairly central and next to a metro station with access to everything (and a bus down to the port wine district). The in-unit washer/dryer was wonderful to have at that point in our trip, and though the apartment got a bit stuffy during the day, this was quickly remedied by turning on the AC as soon as we returned. There is a grocery store open until 22:00 about 2 blocks away, which made it very easy to take advantage of the kitchen to make breakfast, though for other meals we ate out according to some great vegetarian recommendations João made for us on check-in. The main issue we had was that every morning we were there, starting 8:30-9a, there were workers gutting the next apartment over. This involved sledgehammers tearing down walls, drywall smashing, rubble shoveling, workers coming up and down the stairs (and past our door) with cement buckets, loud radio playing and shouting/other construction noise. I'm not sure how long this will last as we weren't told this would be happening at all. It wasn't too egregiously early, but we were getting late starts since I was recovering from being sick so it was a bit obnoxious. A secondary issue was some poor communication around the timing of check-in, since we were traveling internationally and didn't have wifi to be able to see last-minute (~10 minutes beforehand) messages on a change of check-in schedule, but once we finally found him, João was very helpful with suggestions for what to do and where to go, especially for veg-friendly restaurants. Overall a decent place to stay, and we had a great time in Porto! Obrigada!
