We have been traveling around Australia staying at Airbnbs. We have had some unique experiences, and this counts as one of those unique experiences. We were not expecting to stay in a metal shed that has been converted to a really upscale camping experiences (called glamping - or glammer camping). Seriously, the metal shed has one side removed and replaced with an extended screen room. All of the other openings are similarly screened. But, this isn't to imply the place wasn't gorgeous. The furnishings were high class and tasteful. But, everything was a bit damp. I'm not a big fan of synthetic fabrics, but without them, even the beds would have been damp. We tried to do laundry and nothing would dry. Do note that the bathroom is in a separate building from the shed, and if you need to use the bathroom at night, it entails a trip outside. We also worried about bugs. None of the seams in the shed were sealed, so there was ample opportunity for bugs of all kinds to get in. Perhaps mosquito nets would have made us feel more secure. Linda did introduce us to Cass who rescues wallabies. Our family interacted with 3 baby wallabies, and it was one of the highlights of our whole trip. We'd strongly encourage anyone with children (or animal lovers) to take advantage of feeding and interacting with Cass and her wallabies. Finally, just an observation that Linda was our contact, and talked me into spending an extra day in Cooktown. She was going to line up a day snorkeling trip to the Great Barrier Reef, which was appealing because there are no listed trips to the northern part of the reef from the Cooktown area. We were so disappointed to arrive and find that Linda had not yet made arrangements, and when she tried, there was no one appropriate to take us out. One of the main reasons for staying the extra day was to take advantage of this opportunity, and we were disappointed that there had been a breakdown in communication on this.

Great place for small groups or families. Glamping at its best! Lovely open plan house with a great flow to relaxing outside by the fire and huge pool. Lynda was a great host and very easy to deal with.

Lovely large open plan space in a beautiful setting. We had a terrific time in the area and loved being in this quiet spot. There is a lot of room inside and outside where we enjoyed hanging out, cooking, and eating with our family. This is a special place. But you should be sure that you are comfortable staying in the open plan setup with curtains, but no walls, separating the sleeping areas and with a charming bathroom that is outside of the main building.

Booking was quick and easy. Gen was really flexible. The 'shed' is like a very lovely house. Lots of extras like mozzie spray ( which we didn't need). The location was easy to find. We took our dogs and there's a great dog pen with an under cover area. Outdoor fire. Lots of fans not too hot. Really relaxing and perfect airbnb. Thank you for having us we will be back
