The cabin was on the side of a mountain and very quiet. There is one house closeby but the back is wooded. Our host was very generous in leaving a bottle of wine, coffee and other "essentials" for us upon arrival. We were about 5 minutes from the town of Woodstock and we were able to get to yoga studios and hikes in the area very easily. The fireplace and wood burning stove were in need of maintenance so we were not able to use them. That was the only disappointing feature.

We loved staying at Helen's beautiful place that was tucked away but also really conveniently close to Woodstock. Place was cozy , clean and spacious. So much light and great views of the surroundings. Wasn't too rustic and wasn't too modern , just perfect. Would stay here again.

My best friend and I wanted to get out of the noisy city for the weekend and Helen's house looked perfect. Well... it IS! More so than we had even realized. Where do I begin? - There are so many windows that let in natural light and allow you to bask in the quiet nature before even walking out the door. The space is bigger than we even expected! - On our first night there, we encountered an awesome thunderstorm unlike anything we'd ever get in the city, which only added to the scary movies we were watching on the large TV. - Not only did Helen think of all the basics(+) we might have needed (olive oil, hairdryer, etc) but when we arrived there was a lovely bottle of wine waiting for us! - The location is minutes away from Woodstock's Tinker Street, and not far from hiking trails. - Spotty wireless service but very reliable WiFi, which is all we wanted (the point of a getaway) - The mattresses and pillows are beyond comfortable. I'm on a mission to find pillows like those for myself now. Basically, if you can go, go!

Helen's home is unique, and peaceful. It is full of large windows, allowing a view of the beautiful setting from every room. All of the little details in the house reflect her appreciation of the need for her guests to enjoy a relaxing stay...lovely artwork, ultra-comfortable furniture...even a bottle of wine, and chocolate (!) greeted us as we entered. We did not want to leave, and will definitely consider staying again. Thank you, Helen!

Helen's place is a lovely home, with all the comforts you will need to stay a weekend or a week. The location is ideal! It's a short drive the hill to town, but the home is tucked away in the woods so as to be very peaceful and quiet. Helen was very attentive, messaging me leading up to, as well as during, our stay to be sure everything was ok. Thank goodness there is wi-fi in the house, as I had no cell service unless I was in town. There is a landline in the home and the wi-fi was excellent. There were some goodies greeting us on arrival--it was a nice touch! Only wish the fireplaces had been ready as I brought s'more making ingredients!

Response from Helen:
Thanks for the review Alison. Sorry about the fireplace. I have the chimneys scheduled to be cleaned and serviced. The timing was a bit off for your visit. Glad you enjoyed staying at the house though. Would love to have to back some time.
