About this listing
Cozy yet quirky apartment on the first floor of a beautiful house first built in 1914 (includes most original fixtures). Located in the vibrant, as well as very walk-able neighborhood of Andersonville, the location and convenience of this neighborhood is hard to beat! Within a 5-10 minute walk of some of the best bars, restaurants, shops, and public transit, there is little left to want. Whether you're here for a quiet weekend or to tear it up in Wrigley with the Cubs, this spot will suit you!
There is one separate bedroom, and a separate secluded den area with a curtained doorway available to guests, while the hosts will be occupying their own bedroom during guests stay. The separate bedroom has a full bed and bed frame, while the den just fits a queen air mattress, and the living room has an (exceptionally) comfy couch. We can also provide a twin air mattress for the living room, or guests may bring their own air mattress if preferred. Guests will have full access and reign of the apartment (except for the hosts bedroom) during their stay. Hosts are very quiet and considerate and will definitely keep to themselves is guests prefer! The apartment is full of natural lighting and still retains the majority of it's original hardware fixtures from 1914. The front porch overlooks the street, small garden, and the historic Edgwater Hospital, while the adorable fenced back yard is in full bloom during the summer with seasonal flowers and climbing ivy. We also have a Weber charcoal grill for guests to use for grilling in the backyard!
Entire apartment, except for host's bedroom, as well as street parking, alley way, front porch, back yard, and free laundry in basement!
We also would like to note that this house does have an upstairs neighbor, and the hosts will be sharing the space as well, so please be considerate with noise levels at appropriate times :)
Interaction with guests
We love hosting people and will be as involved or hands-off as guests prefer. We will be there to give you your copy of keys and will collect them at the end of your stay. As far as interaction in between, the hosts both work and have lives, so we may be in and out of the apartment, though we have no problem socializing with guests!
Other things to note
Though we are personally okay with all dogs, unfortunately there is a strict size and temperament limit when it comes to dogs for these apartments. So if your dog is big and loud (or just big or just loud), you will want to find another place. We are also okay with children, though it should be noted that the apartment is not child-safe (doors that dont lock, exposed outlets, open cabinets, etc). This means that all children must be closely monitored at all times, and if you know they will get into things, this is may not be the place for you. We do reserve the right to cancel the reservation (with refund) if these needs are not met, though this has never been an issue in the past!

Learn about this field
There is an upstairs neighbor and we both work full time and sometimes on the weekends, so we ask that guests please recognize an 11 pm to 7 am not-crazy-loud time on weekdays, and a 1 am to 8 am turned-up-but-still-respectful time on weekends. Thank you for helping us sleep sometimes and to afford living in this wonderful neighborhood in this beautiful city :)
