Walter's place gets a solid 3 stars. The beds were warm and comfy, the location felt safe, and the sheets and towels were clean. Walter was quick with communication and provided many tips while staying in Ayacucho. He also acted fast when issues were presented. For example, the shower head was in desperate need of being replaced as there was barely any pressure and very little water came out. I let him know and the very next morning a new shower head was installed. However, there are some things that could be done for future guests to ensure this place starts getting some 4 star reviews or more. An absorbent bath mat should be provided in the bathroom, along with wash clothes in case guests forget to bring theirs. WiFi wasn't available while we were there, but it sounds like the should be being included soon, so hopefully the next guests have that available to them as it is nice to be able to hop on the internet to make plans around the city rather than burn data on your phone or tablet. Walter should also update the accommodations to say 2 people, not three. The room only has two twin beds, so unless there is a cot in hiding, there's no way this place is sleeping 3 people. Also, Walter should include information in the room or on the page here some of the peculiarities concerning the hot water heater, which makes water way to hot if left on too long, including water that is supposed to be cold. Also, I feel like the price needs to be updated to better reflect location and amenities offered. We payed $68 a night for Semana Santa and were away from the center of town. The last minute nature of our trip and booking would warrant higher prices, but I believe this location is too far from the center plaza to command prices of nearly $70 a night. $55 would seem more correct for busy weeks in Ayacucho. All that said, we enjoyed our stay thanks to Walters quick acting and knowledge of the city. With a slight reduction in price and the inclusion of some of the basic amenities, this place will definitely be worth looking at for your stay.
