Hip city flat in one of the oldest neighborhoods in STL. Home was originally built in 1861 and I just finished doing a full gut rehab focused on modernizing while maintaining the original personality of the space

Walking distance to lots of restaurants and bars in Soulard and Lafayette Square. $5-6 Uber to Convention Center/Wash Ave or to catch a Blues or Cardinals game. Just minutes from Interstates 44, 55, 70, and 64, you can't get much more centrally located for your visit to STL : )

The space

As a group of 2 or less you have you own half of the flat with a private queen size bedroom and bathroom/shower that is lockable and you share the kitchen tv room space. If you book for 3 or 4 you get an air mattress and the kitchen tv room becomes part of your private space.

Love the building's historic charm + updated interior. Henry's place is easily accessed, it's clean, and it's close to some great amenities. He's a great host, too.

Henry's place was a great location for our 5 day trip to STL! We were close enough to Uber to the city for cheap and even closer to the nightlife in Soulard. Henry was a very friendly host and made us feel welcome! Would recommend this location to anyone visiting the STL area!

Henry was extremely accommodating for my co-worker and myself who were in town for a conference. The couch is in the shared living room, but Henry made sure the air mattress was set up so we each could have a bed in the private suite. The location was extremely close to downtown and neighborhoods such as Soulard and Benton Park. Definitely would recommend Henry's place for a weekend in STL!

I really hate that I had to give this 4 stars. I actually feel bad too because I've actually never given a "good" review on here. If I could rate Henry and the place itself with any outside factors.. I would give it a 5 in a heartbeat. There was mainly one thing that really just put a downer on it though. I'll start with what we really enjoyed and loved about it. Henry was great and welcoming and he gave really really great suggestions on places to go in the area. He is also really fast with communicating with you and super flexible to work with. The Uber cost was also ranged from 8-10 dollars to Busch Stadium so that was great too. The place itself is absolutely beautiful. Henry said he fixed up the place himself and he really did a stunning job on it. The kitchen was my favorite thing about it. The reason I had to give it 4 stars was because of the noise and the privacy issues we had. I know this isn't Henry's fault.. but the neighbors downstairs partied loud and hard from 10pm to about 2am both Friday night and Saturday night. Saturday was a lot worse than Friday. Their music was so loud on Saturday that it was rattling the floor in the living room of Henry's place. They were trying to scream over their music so we could also clearly hear their screaming conversations. It was so bad that we debated on either calling Henry or the police but we didn't call either of them because we didn't think Henry would be able to do anything about it and we were told the police don't normally come out for noise complaints by one of our friends that lived in St. Louis so we ended up just dealing with it. That really just put a downer on the whole thing because we didn't really get sleep either night. One other small thing was that there weren't blinds anywhere in the home so we felt like we really didn't have privacy at all. He did say we were the second people to stay there though, so maybe they just hadn't been put in yet. Again, I will say thank you Henry for being such a kind and welcoming person. I feel bad that I can't give this 5 stars because of how great you were to work with and how amazing this place was.

Response from Henry:
Yes Kara as I shared you were my third guest in this new space but the first to mention curtains which I agree should be in the bedroom for both privacy light pollution. As for the loud music, I wish you would have told me. My tenant recently went through a rough break up and he's not in the best of places but had you messaged me I would have gotten that music shutdown in a matter of minutes. In the future when using AirBNB please know that your host wants to at least be given the opportunity to remedy a situation. I know you come in for Cards games regularly and if you give me another chance I can promise there will be curtains in the bedroom and no loud music. Also I will give you a free night as consideration for your sleepless nights...thanks for your honesty and for the 4 star review considering the sleeplessness. Yours Very Truly, Henry

This space is beautiful and unique. We stayed for a weekend and loved it. Henry was easy to communicate with and helpful with suggestions of where to eat in the neighborhood. I would definitely recommend this to a friend and plan on staying here again whenever I come back to STL.

Very laid back and get along with most everyone. I have a passion for travel...backpacked 20 months accross South America, Africa, Eastern Europe, Central and Southeast Asia. On this trip I learned a lot about myself and the world we all share.

I love new places as well as returning to favorite destinations. Meeting new people is my favorite pass time.

I have had the great fortune of having many open their home to me and I am excited to reciprocate now that I myself have a cool space to share. You should know I am clean, respectful, and strive for that a word
