Low impact on the earth and on your wallet. Accommodation is too expensive these days. Sharing what we have, what we grow and how we live in a sustainable way. We have loads of space for new friends.
We are working towards a sustainable home in the suburbs and would love you to share our journey. The house is well thought out, with a quiet private wing of two spare bedrooms. See our other listing for the second bedroom. We can provide a single bed on a share basis at a reduced rate if you're on your lonesome.
Choose a little interaction or a lot.
The house wraps around a central open air atrium. It serves as a great hang out, BBQ and giant jenga space.
The kitchen and living areas are open and airy. We are usually out in any one of the yards mulching vegetable gardens or planting trees - there is plenty of opportunity for privacy for you. Likewise there is opportunity to learn, share and eat with us.
Much of our power needs are taken care of by solar. The house stays cool year round due to its great design.
We have made quite the hobby of hosting travelers. You will be made to feel comfortable and at home. We are passionate about many things, including: showcasing what Esperance has to offer; permaculture and restorative gardening; and games. Ping pong anyone? Settlers of Catan?
We are happy to help you plan your time in Esperance, and your journey to and from.
Please note that we are pet friendly and have our own friendly furry sidekick pooch.
You will have your own room, a shared bathroom (only if other guests are staying). There is a large kitchen that you will share with us and other guests. You will have access to all of the facilities that our home has to offer including hammocks and a barbeque in the atrium. You may also help yourselves to what ever is growing in the garden.
Interaction with guests
Typically guests have plenty of privacy as we go about our day, but may choose to join us for perhaps a shared meal, games, projects, laughter, world problem solving.
We host couchsurfers and students from around the world. Your contribution is priced solely to help us host these interesting folk. This is a special thing about our home - the people you may get to meet.
Other things to note
We have only moved to this house in Esperance in January. We are working hard to rebuild its gardens. We wish to make it a place of abundance and joy for all those who travel.
Please don't feed the dog. Be warned - he's very convincing.
Please let us know if you are bringing a pet so we can make proper arrangements.
