Our house was designed by the renowned Troppo Architects and has been featured in Bill Granger's Holiday TV series. It is a stunning home with a saltwater pool, open plan living, surrounded by tropical plants in a quiet suburb. Close to the city, and the famous Parap markets. We are minutes away from Fannie Bay, East Point and the city. Enjoy Darwin's warm weather, markets, crocodiles (behind bars of course!), and the beautiful Litchfield National Park.
You'll be absolutely stunned by this tropical masterpiece, which is a one of a kind designed by the award winning Troppo Architects, nicknamed the R2 House.
It is family friendly, and you will feel at home with nature in this exceptional home. We hope you love it as much as we do! The best thing about it is it's actually separated into 3 buildings interconnected by decks. There is the 'kids room and play area' which has its own bathroom and 4 beds (1 bunk bed and 2 single beds), and is adjacent to the garage. Then there is the main house with the living area, beautiful kitchen and huge entertaining deck next to the pool, master bedroom with king size bed, desk and main bathroom. Finally the bungalow is tucked away in the palms connected to the main house via a wooden deck - this is a self contained studio room with a queen bed, lounge room, TV, bathroom and kitchenette. Plenty of space and privacy for everyone!
The whole 1400 square metre block is accessible. It has a huge trampoline, saltwater pool, 2 adult bikes, and 3 kids bikes, a couple of prams, high chair and plenty of gardens to explore, and of course plenty of areas for relaxation and entertainment.
There is also free access to a 5 seater Toyota Corolla Sedan. We would just ask that you pay for all your fuel, send us a copy of your driver's licence, and pay a $500 bond prior to cover any excess should you have an accident. Can also leave 2 baby car seats.
Wifi is free as well.
Interaction with guests
None - we are going camping and making the most of Darwin's cool season :). Will be intermittently available via phone or email. You'll see some of our personal belongings around the house, but there isn't really anything you can't touch, so feel at home.
Whilst we have never Airbnb'd out the entire home before, we have often listed the bungalow on this property on Airbnb which has multiple 5 star ratings - check out our other listing called the Tropical Private Bungalow to view.
Other things to note
Our house is a tropical masterpiece which has been designed with high ceilings and completely opens up to capture the breezes flowing between the tropical gardens, so is not air conditioned. June/July is Darwin's dry and cool season with temperatures usually dropping to 15 -18 degrees at night, and between 24-30 degrees in the daytime. However, the bungalow and kids room/play room does come fully airconditioned as well should you feel the need to escape in the daytime for a sleep :)
