Drazen provided one of the best airbnb experiences I've ever had. He was the ideal host - communicative, helpful, and easy to reach. He gave us detailed instructions on how to get to his apartment from the airport, picked us up at the bus stop, and walked us to his apartment.
His apartment was even better than what the photos provided. It was spacious, clean, and in the charming neighborhood of Javaplein (east Amsterdam). It was only a short bus or tram ride to the city centre (about 15-20 min). The neighborhood consisted of locals - there weren't a lot of tourists there so it wasn't as crowded which was nice. However, it still had a good share of great bars, coffee shops, and restaurants that were open late into the early morning. Since Amsterdam is so small, it was extremely easy to get around. Drazen suggested that we buy a 3-day transportation pass which was valid for all buses, and trams. We'd take a bus to the city centre and just walk or bike once we were there.
Drazen gave us maps and guides of the city in his apartment. He was also kind enough to stock his fridge and pantry with snacks, coffee, and tea. His bathroom was immaculate and had all the amenities you needed if you forgot to pack something (which was a saving grace for us because airport security threw away most of our liquids). His apartment was on the fifth floor and featured a lovely balcony! He was extremely generous and helpful whenever we asked him a question. At one point, we needed to print our boarding pass and it was Sunday so everything closed early... He gave us a few suggestions of where we could go and told us that if we had any trouble, he'd go over to his friend's house to print it for us.
Overall the experience in this airbnb was above and beyond!! I highly recommend Drazen's home if you're looking for a place to stay in Amsterdam!!
