The house was in a quiet area and had a lovely market just down the street. Erik and Roos were extremely hospitable and friendly as well as very easy to communicate with. The house cat Haruki was a perfect little cat; she even went to the bathroom outside so there wasn't a litter box to clean. The bathroom was split up (shower and sink upstairs with the toilet downstairs) and the bathroom with the toilet was very small. Over all it was a great place to be and we enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam. Thank you Erik and Roos for letting us stay in your lovely little home for a month!

Perfect place to stay for a full Amsterdam experience. "Noord" (north) Amsterdam is very close to the city center, but let's you enjoy a quiet, relaxed area. My friend and I enjoyed having the option to get away from the crowded touristic places and getting to see another side of the Amsterdam everyday life. We actually spent quite some time in the area, biking north west (to Cevel right across the house, and many other shipyards and cafés) and north east (Tuindorp Nieuwendam and Durgerdam are lovely and make for a nice bike ride). Plus, taking the free ferry to get to the city center back and forth, adds some fun and "local" experience. Erik's place is small but confortable and you have everything you need. Erik though about everything and is very generous; from new lights for the bikes to yummy cheese in the fridge and all kinds of spices you might want to cook with.

We were very well at Erik house, the house is really very near to the centre if you use bicycles.. (it takes five minutes to take the ferry to Central Station). The district is very quiet and green. We found a very warm cat but we were sorry not to meet Erik. If we want to say about defects the bathroom is very narrow and if you are a tall man is difficult close the door... but in complex the house is nice and clean. Best Gian and Loredana

It was mine and my best friends 10 year anniversary so we decided to go to Amsterdam. Erik was very communicative before and during our stay and was very helpful and accommodating. We didn't meet face to face, but I felt like the lovely house was all our own. We were bought some items of food for our arrival (arriving late, most places in the area were closed, so that was thoughtful) and the place was clean and tidy. Looking after the cat was a delight and listening to music on vinyl was brilliant. The double bed was big and comfortable and had enough space to comfortably sleep me and my friend. Transport is easy to find, and being allowed to ride Erik and Rose's bikes were a dream come true! Suggestion for guests visiting this house - visit the Eye cinema/museum and have some food on the balcony. It has an amazing view, brilliant architecture and is only a 20 minute walk away. The garden is also perfect for breakfasts and to chill out in. Love the mini herb garden! Thanks again for letting us use your home, Erik & Rose. We had the great time. :) x

Erik was very welcoming and helpful. He gave us all the little tricks and advices we need to know about the house, the neighborhood, the bikes and the things to do. We felt very warmly hosted in his charming house, Haruki (the cat) was also very glad to see us back (mainly for the food..Ok.. but still). Nice place, nice people, nice cat.. what can I say more?
