Ideally situated just outside Dingle town, our cosy one bedroom stone cottage is perfect for a relaxing getaway. Sleeps two and is just a 4 min drive or 20 to 30 min walk to Dingle town. Our cottage has its own bar, decking and BBQ area surrounded by stunning views!

The space
Welcome to The Stone Cottage.
We take pride in our little old irish stone cottage, and love to share it with others, as we feel it is an amazing and special little space, so unique and is a true piece of Irish culture.

The cottage is ideally situated to the east of Dingle Town. This property is a 150+ year old traditional Irish old stone cottage and it is perfect for a relaxing and rustic getaway! It is just a 3 / 4 min drive or 20/25 minute walk to Dingle Town. Our unique old stone Irish cottage has its own authentic Irish síbín (shebeen) which is an old Irish word for bar, The bar is an honesty bar, so we would appreciate you respect the rules (whiskey/spirits off limits, beers in fridge can be consumed for a nominal fee) however you are also more than welcome to bring your own drinks and enjoy a cold one at the bar in front of the fire! It also has a wood burning / solid fuel stove (only operational during winter months) perfect for those stormy winter nights in. there is also a small kitchenette, bathroom with shower, outside decking area at the back door with stunning views (winter time it is off limits due to dangerous slippery surface in the bad weather) and there is also a BBQ area to the front of the cottage.
Our lofted cottage contains an extremely comfortable double bed (with electric blanket for those extra cold winter nights) in the loft/ mezzanine area and it sleeps two comfortably.
Our cottage is an Ideal location for hill walkers. Fresh clean towels are provided on arrival.
Parking is available.
The property is animal friendly and we have a super friendly dog on site who live in the main house, his name is Harley and he is a Goldendoodle. He has been a big hit with previous guests and he looks forward to welcoming our future guests!

Guest access
Though the cottage is on the same property as the main house (across the yard / driveway from the host's house) the guests have their own private entrance therefore they will have complete privacy.

Other things to note
As this is a lofted / mezzanine cottage, the bedroom is accessed via a wooden ladder/staircase. Please take care when going up and down this staircase.

Breakfast is not included. The cottage is very much self-catering, and there is several good supermarkets in town where many delicious breakfast foods can be purchased and cooked by the guests in the cottage.

The wood burning stove is only operational from October - April.
May to September it is not in use due to mild weather, however there are portable heaters upstairs and downstairs and are on hand to switch on for a short while if one needs. There is also an electric blanket on the bed.

There is no wifi at the cottage.

Basic amenities provided , kettle , toaster , electric cooker and kitchen utensils.

Check in from 3pm onwards & Check Out is strictly by 11am

Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland

Ballinvounig where our cottage is situated is a small rural village / parish just east of Dingle Town. When you come out of the cottage and onto the road, turn right to head for Dingle Town which is just a quick 3 minute drive or 20/25 minute walk. From here you can head on a tour out west around our beautiful Slea Head drive and take in the breathtakingly beautiful scenery. Or alternatively if you feel like a leisurely stroll, take a left and stroll along the country roads where you will find Garfinny Bridge which is reputedly the oldest surviving bridge in Ireland. It is a medieval bridge and has been recently restored. It is the only bridge to be declared a national monument of Ireland. It may have been standing in 1580 when, according to local legend, Lord Deputy Grey and 800 troops passed over it.
