Villa Cuarterón is part of the beautiful Huerta El Cuarterón, the oldest fruit-growing farm in the area. Sitting just below the charming village of Gaucín, there are spectacular views of the Straits of Gibraltar and Africa beyond. With just a 2 night minimum stay it makes a beautiful and peaceful break from visiting the historical town of Ronda or Seville, Granada and Córdoba further afield. The house has 2 double rooms and is perfect for just 2 people or those travelling with friends.

The space

The house is nestled in the hillside a few minutes drive from the picturesque village of Gaucín. It sits in a beautiful orchard where you will be surrounded by the wonderful scent of orange & lemon blossom, and trees laden with olives, pomegranates, quinces, figs, oranges, lemons, grapefruit and avocados. It is a relaxing escape where nature abounds with wild flowers and some of the most beautiful birdsong; nightingales stopping on their migratory path.

The master bedroom has wonderful views over the orchard below and rolling hills leading to the Rock of Gibraltar and the Riff mountains of Africa beyond. It has an ensuite bathroom with twin sinks, a shower and a bath.

There are numerous terraces, which all enjoy the amazing views.

It's a 10-15 minute walk through the countryside up to Gaucín - where you'll find shops, tapas bars and a broad range of excellent restaurants. Afterwards, you can return to the house - your oasis of calm and tranquility, away from it all.

You will be provided with a breakfast hamper including our own eggs and a bottle of wine and a cold beer will be awaiting your arrival! . There are also plenty of lemons, grapefruit, pomegranates etc from the farm obviously depending on the season. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you will need.

Guest access

Guests will have the full run of this house.

It is an independent 2 bedroom house (with a 3rd room with 2 single beds connected to the master bedroom); if you have any questions, my farm house is situated close by and I am on hand for local advice, things to do, places to eat, etc etc.

We had a wonderful stay at El Cuarteron.  After quite a journey from Seville and astop-off in Ronda en route we were extremely happy to arrive at the house.  We were met by Sally and who showed us around and we were soon sitting on the terrace enjoying a lovely cold bottle of rose Sally had left for us. The house was great, the bedroom enormous with a fantastic balcony overlooking the orchard and the horses in the paddock and amazing views. It was so clear you could see the boats in the straits of Gibraltar and the the mountains in Morocco. The kitchen has everything you need though we didn't really use it apart from making our breakfast, with Sally's delicious eggs! We went up to the village for supper on both nights to places recommended by Sally, on the first night a tapas bar and on the second to a great restaurant which has just opened overlooking the square.  Both were spot on! We went for a challenging walk up the Hacho mountain where we saw lots of Griffin vultures circling overhead. On the way back we had lunch in the village before strolling back down to the house. The house is ideally placed just outside the village so making it easy to go out for tapas etc but also it was lovely to be away from it all. The birdsong is just incredible and it was a real treat to catch the nightingales. Sally lives in the farmhouse next door, she is a very generous host and is on hand to help with anything but also very much left us to our own devices. Overall we had a wonderful 2 day stay.  It's an incredibly relaxing easy going place and we cannot recommend it highly enough and look forward to coming back!
