This hostel is centrally located with access to public transportation, cabs, and the center of the city. Though it is in a public square, you don't get any street noise. The house immediately behind this one played their music rather loud at times, it never disturbed us because we enjoyed what they were playing. The house is easy walking to Matanzas' central square, the main bus terminal and their shopping district. The young lady who lives at the house was extremely gracious and helpful. She was totally ok with us using the kitchen to store and prepare our meals, which we did every day we were there. I asked her in my broken Spanish is she could connect me with someone to teach me some Orixa dance classes. She did. The young lady came to the house and taught me three private lessons. I loved it. The house is very clean and comfortable. There is a fabulous breeze that comes off the water through the front door, which they keep open during the day and into the night. The breeze gets really good around 11am. They might want to consider putting some more ceiling fans on the first floor since there is no AC. It can get a little hot and sticky, especially when you've been cooking. Just want to say a big THANK YOU to our hosts. We had a great time there.
